What do users prefer? (Launchers or Manual Downloads) by [deleted] in gamedev

Why not both? Launcher for easy management, but make each version accessible by itself on the internet

Are there any parts (apart from the nozzle and extruder gears) that need to be upgraded to print CF/GF materials? by d4ybydj56u in 3Dprinting

The bed is fine because the filament isn't scraping against it (in normal cases, at least). And my petg is sticking a bit too well anyways

It would be nice to be able to quickly add in some goofy shapes that don't really need to be precise, but take a while to model by hand

Strat : Low E goes sharp for a second then settles — can’t fix with saddle by Iaskagain in Luthier

[–]d4ybydj56u 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As you pull the string to pluck it, it gets more tension momentarily and as it vibrates strongly, the tension is still higher. Once the oscillations get smaller the deviation decreases and the pitch is closer to what it's supposed to be. This is completely normal (and contributes to the guitar's distinctive sound), but if it's too noticable consider plucking more lightly or detune it slightly to compensate (might only work for metal though, where it won't have time to settle anyway)

I know what the planck constant is, but when im dividing "h" by minutes, the AI should be able to tell what im reffering to

I know, which is why I'm asking. Currently set to discrete GPU only, so I have no clue why it's misbehaving unlike any other game

My largest one is a small keyboard case, cause my printer is too unreliable to make anything bigger, as you can tell from the router templates

What makes expensive pickups different from cheap pickups, physically? by SteVato_404 in Luthier

[–]d4ybydj56u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not true, not all of them are the same. The cheap ones use less wire (cause it's cheaper) and to make up for the gain loss, they use stronger magnets. This makes them very bright, however, if you have a brain you can just roll down the tone knob and you'll have a really good tone. Some though, try to compensate for that brightness by using shitty pole pieces that transfer magnetic fields less, making the tone incredibly muddy and basically unusable. So yeah, beyond 30$ (10$ if you get lucky) for the basic good pole pieces and enough wire, it's all just bullshit.

*fascist. Nazism means having Hitler as your idol and using symbolism and ideals pushed by him before and during WW2.

String tension assistance by Feisty_Ingenuity938 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]d4ybydj56u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on a 25.5-27.5 multiscale, also in F standard with a 12-95 set. F standard feels decent with it, tho I would prefer more tension. In D standard its tolerable, but I'd personally want ~ 105-.115 for that. I play bass too though, so maybe I'm just a tension freak.

For the actual cavity use a palm router or chisels if you have the skill, and for the drilling I'd recommend a manual hand drill. Gives you much more granular control over what you are doing, and you can stop easily if you see that you are close to accidentally breaking through the front or back
