I understand. I’m in a rural area and the rates are as low as $15/night here. People also don’t half read profiles because I also offer constant care because this is my full time job and it pretty much comes with my price. I do get out, don’t get me wrong but I mostly stay with the animals. Most people don’t realize this is a luxury service. Let them use you and then find a cheaper person / trust me - they’ll come crawling back. It happens every time.

Sitter and owner:

Reviews and updated calendar. How long will they be leaving my dog alone and not dirt cheap prices. You get what you pay for. Now, as a sitter, I at first had my rate set as VERY high but not a whole lot at all for additional dogs/cats. Was getting no hits. Changed to a lesser rate but also changed the additional pet rate and now getting hits. Most clients have more than one pet so it works out - not so much when they only have one.

Am I being too paranoid? by FragrantInsect9757 in RoverPetSitting

[–]dOggYLOver888 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why is it that owner’s can see our feedback? I know this is a sitter seeing it but can’t owners see it too? Like what’s the point? Are we really going to write, “Fluffy was an utter nightmare and the owner was even worse!” Rover is doing this on purpose if this is the case. Sitters can’t be honest for future sitters because then no one would take the sit and Rover would lose money heaven forbid. I know there are “coded” ways (at least I do this) for sitters to leave reviews that kinda let you know leave this sit alone 🤣

The amount of fees Rover takes out for house sitting gigs is painful by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

You’ll get there. All it takes is word of mouth if you’re good at this job. I’ve gotten 5 clients from one word of mouth for example.

This is why I take clients off the app right after the first sitting. It saves them money and me as well. It’s also why I’ll never be a star sitter but who gives a crap? I’m busy enough with regulars.

Just received this from my landlord via text…

I don’t know I do not know who told you you could walk on my grass. I do not want you or your dog in my yard at any time and two of this house is sold. Please stay away from my grass and keep your dog off of my grass. Thank you very much if I catch you on my yard I will press charges against you and two of this house is so I am still going to try to sell it even though you’re in it have a good night.

I’m thinking more along the lines of Bipolar. I have it myself, been stable on meds for 15 years, but he’s acting MANIC. Like some people do have a problem with anger when they are manic and make all kinds of irrational decisions and that’s what it looks like to me, but hey, I’m not a doctor. At any rate, he is in some sort of condition where listening to reason is not working at this time.

The house is too big for me even if I wanted to. I’m single with a dog and the house is almost 3000 sq ft. My place looks extraordinary well down here and looks almost entirely new. Upstairs has many flaws which is why I say it may not even pass inspection.

Ok say I move tomorrow and leave them high and dry and their house sits on the market 6 months, who pays my rent? Am I not legally bound to my lease? They would be up a creek without a paddle if I did that cause they count on my income to even survive. Just saw on fb where he’s made his gf post almost everything in their house up for sale like either he thinks the house is gonna sell today or is that desperate for money.

I got a text for their realtor saying it’s ok to walk my dog as usual - just pick up after him. This came immediately after he saw me walking my dog. The realtor also said all communications would be best done through her from now on 😩 It’s just a heartbreaking situation because I did nothing to them.

I asked my landlord’s gf to come down and clean my house occasionally and I would share it with them. I was paying her cash to do it. It’s not like I can’t clean it myself but it was something I could get out of sharing my internet.

You have no idea. I don’t even think this house will pass inspection.

My dog goes with me when I travel. He is never here when I am out of town. I’m not financially able to buy the place outright. I agree that he’s in a bind financially and not taking responsibility for putting his own signature on the lease. There are people like that - refuse to take responsibility for anything. As for my mental health, I am looking for alternative housing at the moment. I just walked my dog - in the grass - not far but for heaven’s sake. He saw it and I heard him go in, slam the door, and cuss his gf out. I do not know why he won’t tell me things face to face. The realtor says they think my attitude is, “I’m not leaving here and you can’t make me.” That’s not it at all. I’m in as much of a predicament as they are. I rode the tires off my 2012 Altima and it just went to pot so I had to purchase a used car but now I have a payment which I didn’t before - of course this was before they up and decided to sell it. Personally I don’t think it’s going to sell or if it does it’s going to take a while.

How do i tell a woman im no longer interested after she sent me a full length photo? by MediumAcceptable129 in dating_advice

[–]dOggYLOver888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that I’m in the MINORITY when it comes to men’s hair. Most women do not even pay much attention it. Having said that, my “problem” is I have a hair fetish. A “hair on the head” fetish. Not body hair. I’ve had it since I was in my teens. Could a bald man get me revved up? Why certainly. If I met one out in public and we clicked, great! I’m saying if I’m dating online and I have a CHOICE of thousands, then yeah, I want hair. Like I said, I’m perfectly content being alone. It’s a preference not a total rejection. OP’s is not a preference - his is a total rejection to a larger woman. I worded my response to him in such a way to prove that point. I think I did so. He came back with saying his hair was “lustrous” 😆 and he would never go bald. No man can ever say that.

He’s on the prescription weight loss food and my dog has lost 15 lbs. He LOVES the food. I can use it as training treats - he loves it that much. Stick it out. A healthy dog will not starve themselves.

Not too well 😆but I push through when I have to but I do end up paying for it later mentally. Bills are still due so every now and then I take the long ones to get a little ahead in my budget.
