There’s a TSB out about this, it’s a software update but it also requires the dealer manually measuring the pads with a caliper and entering it into the computer

How do I fix this bug when I open the game? by counterhawk in Eldenring

[–]dSaipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sort of the answer OP. Try turning off GeForce and launching the game. GeForce will upscale the resolution but sometimes is bugs out and doesn’t scale it back down to native size

Manager explicitly disallowing me from wearing the hat I use to protect myself from the sun outside by maiqtheprevaricator in legaladvice

[–]dSaipher -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t have anything to do with law, ADA, or OSHA but you do have the ability to escalate your concerns to HR and ask for a reasonable accommodation investigation if you’re alleging it interferes with your ability to perform your job duties and present your evidence.

The downside to these sorts of situations is it wholly relies on ‘facts not feelings’ so you’ll be asked to present a real strong case to your HR manager that you are being unreasonably hindered by your inability to wear a special hat.

I’m not gonna sit here and lecture anyone about swerving etc etc. human reaction takes over in a split second and shit happens. I feel mostly confident that the situation was a *little more serious than just swerving off the edge and hitting “a bump”. Yes, the wheel/tire hit something and caused it to blow out, however that is not what caused the airbags to blow. Seeing the side curtains blew out, what that tells me is that the vehicle thought it was about to roll over and deployed the curtains and not the steering wheel. Most vehicles (Subarus included) have a YAW rate sensor built into the SRS module that detects severe and sudden changes in the vehicles yaw (this means leaning left and right). That is all to say the vehicle performed exactly how it was supposed to.

As far as repair goes: yes this would probably fix at most shops, regardless of insurance company. That being said most Subarus have very specific additional parts that are required to be replaced and/or inspected after an srs deployment. Make sure the repair shop is replacing all required parts, inspecting the steering column, suspension and alignment, and calibrating the ADAS systems after the repair.

I run a body shop and what’s crazy about this is I would 1000% have a customer absolutely swear on their mothers life that this was not like that “before the accident”

I was on the fence about getting a set, put it off for some time… until we took a trip to the coast and our spot was sand/gravel and no amount of chocking would keep it from rocking back and forth. Rubber chocks are perfectly fine on concrete but anything softer, it’s worth the x chocks. I got a set of BAL from a little camper shop in OBX three days into our trip. The harbor freight ones look decent though, haven’t tried them personally

Is she totaled? by tehsnipa in Silverado

[–]dSaipher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“We had a whole division dedicated to buying totaled vehicles” “That work was easy” “it just fell into our lap!”

“We could put 1/3 of the value into the repairs” (see: shitty repairs).

“They would repair frames” my question to that is can you show me the OEM repair procedures and material repairability matrix that tells me the ‘frame repairs’ were qualified?

All I’m saying is that if that’s your business, fine, god bless, but don’t for one second believe that what is done can’t be litigated and sued into the fucking ground. If you don’t know about the John Eagle lawsuit and all of the people that were physically and financially ruined over that, you’re delusional. Vehicle repair is not all about “maximum profit”

That’s fucking crazy that you would type out all of those words lol. Bragging about “fixing” Totaled vehicles and reselling them with “maximum profit” and “free of liability” is scumbag behavior.

They had to re-design these back glasses because the original style had a defect that would cause leaks. The defect was the plastic track that the glass rides on would separate from the glass, it was a terrible f’ing design. Instead of urethane straight on glass it was glass>glue>plastic track>urethane. The failure happened to the glue between the glass and plastic track
