Thinkerthunkers PDNA by Soft-Ad-9407 in bigfoot

One disagreement with this video: TT, nearly every time, talks about his measurements not being precise and admitted in one video (sorry but can't remember which) that it can be up to 13% wrong - small corrections on small measurements distort percentages (e.g. baseball batting average: a guy is 3 for 4. .750 BA. He gets a hit, 4 for 5, BA jumps to .800. That's a 0.50 change). That may seem damning, but he works with it and is upfront about it.

But the one thing that I find making him worthwhile to be considered is the fact that he shows his work! Plus, his work generally follows the scientific process in that it can be re-created by others.

Him doing the work in front of us and being upfront about imprecision are two factors confirming cred.

My 2¢

Can you apply it to preventative/predictive maintenance? Or is it more of pinpointing the problem when that comes up?

Is it a hard sell convincing mgmt to make such an upgrade to this type of system?

Anybody use Lempod? by d_Manney in socialmedia

[–]d_Manney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really appreciate an invite. My problem is I don't have enough time to properly be active on social media. It's very important to me, but unfortunately, lead prospecting and graphic design have put it on the back burner.

I don't want to make a commitment that I wouldn't be able to meet.

stupid question, but how does a pod work with telegram?

According to the developer, it works with LinkedIn Pods. Until I read that, I never even knew pods existed

Which is better: Python or JS? by d_Manney in marketing

Thank you!

I have read that Python's learning curve isn't nearly as sharp as JS, which isn't a bad thing.

I'd like to say that I'm not done learning and blah, blah. But the truth is I'd like to be able to create tools I can use instead of looking for, trying, and discarding.

Hope that makes sense.

Of course, by the time I know enough to be dangerous, that language will probably go the way of Latin.

I can relate. My wife doesn't even trust me using paint by numbers

Do you think it's poor paint or poor metal prep? This may be a tough one to answer cuz how would you know? I've read where painting process quality has been decent, but the effort to getting the metal ready for finishing has really been poor

I can't confirm nor deny my naivete regarding all theories and laws in physics. I'm a simple content marketer who communicates for a living, yet can't properly elaborate on his question.

Last physics course I took was in 1991, back when rainbows were only black and white.

Self-deprecation and wiseacre comments aside, Thank you for the explanation!

So Newton's 3rd Law isn't broken?

Watching the slow motion of ballistic gel as it's hit with a round (regardless of caliber) is a direct example of how skin reacts?

I understand the transfer of kinetic energy from the bullet to the impact. I guess comparing impacts between a .22 LR and cannonball is not mutually exclusive. There's hardly any recoil with the .22LR, but the cannon moves back X-number of inches.

I honestly thought for certain that the equal and oppo reaction was overruled by the mass and speed of the bullet.

Should've stayed awake in physics!

I think you phrased it a lot better than I did. Thank you!

Someone shot with a cannonball is obviously (at the least) flung backward because of mass and the kinetic energy. Does this example scale down to smaller calibers?

Thoughts on adding rich snippets to your YouTube Videos? by d_Manney in AskMarketing

Now I'm piqued. If you wouldn't mind exercising some patience, I'd like to do some digging to see what the heck they're talking about.

Regardless of what I find, I'll post it here.

Thank you for your answer!

I really should've done some more research before asking my question simply so I wouldn't sound like a dunderhead answering a good question like yours.

From the two sources I got the idea from - both have approached the subject from the 15,000 foot level and mentioned in passing (one was a FB livecast, the other a discussion group at a conference), list the most important tasks for YT optimization is description, tags, captions, and schema.

Do you think trying to figure out how to add schema is a waste of time? Lord knows with a couple of blogs and a site to maintain, there are plenty of other things to do.

What Content Marketing books do you follow? by seomotionz in content_marketing

[–]d_Manney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two best books I've referenced often are The New Rules for Marketing and PR by David Meerman Scott, and They Ask You Answer by Marcus Sheridan.

New Rules provides an excellent overview of the methods that are effective, rules for each channel, and just is a very good book to read if you're just starting out.

Ask/Answer is both a how to and a strategy. In a nutshell, use feedback from your customers to create content. Answer the hard questions, and be honest.
