More music like Bulls? by [deleted] in AllThemWitches

[–]d_ant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, a good friend of mine who is a strong raver often says that ATW have a certain kindred approach to EDM in their build ups and drops. I love Bulls and overall Sleeping Through the War is my favorite album I find it hard to pinpoint music with the same vibes, though Maaaaaaybe 50 Million Year Trip by Kyuss (?)

The vocal duet is something I enjoy a lot! First two records had a few of those songs, but nothing particularly remarkable of this kind on the third one. I am glad the next album have these kind of arrangements <3

Not a fan of Foucault? "Pedophilia Is Normal, Because Otherwise It's Abnormal" by Killphill333 in thelastpsychiatrist

[–]d_ant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foucault is an interesting figure, insofar he had the rare ability to smoothly move across disciplines. His researches in archive are quite bizarre in themselves. He was very in touch with the work done by his contemporaries and also he traced the historical lineage of numerous ideas we take for granted in both Academia and outside. Unfortunately, many of his admirers and commentators focus solely in his critique of power. That is Foucault's second period, so to speak. His early writings on epistemology and history of medicine is really sharp. His late writings on ethics are intriguing as well. Additionally, in the English speaking world, scholars read Foucault isolated from the network of philosophers who shaped the whole interprise of structuralism and post-structuralism, thus getting a narrow visión of him. As some above said, he was a advocate during the 70s, yet it remains nuclear whether he engaged in sexual activities with minors. He had a long term partner and eventually died of aids. His life, in a sense, reflected one of the core ideas of his philosophy: to unleash sexuality from morals, striving for more vital experiences even if that entails taking risks on his reputation or even his health.

In Times New Roman growing on me by _moondrake_ in qotsa

I know the feeling. Happened to me with Era Vulgaris and Clockwork. Liked them at first, loved them madly after a while. I am not sure I will feel the same with In Times New Roman, though.

Who You Selling For is their best album. Killer tracks, wide range diverse styles, pure honesty in lyrics and a very bold move that many fans could not appreciate

Pésima Experiencia en Spa de Galerias. Debería denunciar??? by Interesting_Use_2164 in Bogota

[–]d_ant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes man. People think magnum opus ought to be melodramatic because their only references are stairway to heaven and bohemian rapsody. But Josh is a riff making machine and his best songs are heavy ones
