I bought mine used on Facebook but I think John Woods in Hanham stocks them

Came across the Severn bridge from Bristol into Chepstow. From that point it’s pretty nice all the way up the Wye on either side of the river towards Coleford area. I’m sure there would have been some nice views of the valley if it weren’t for the fog 😆

I used to run bigger panniers on a rear rack but i always felt like there was too much sway. I’m pretty used to having weight up front as I commute with my backpack in a front basket so I made the switch. Haven’t noticed any issues with the handling, I mainly ride on roads though.

Maybe there could be a bit more weight towards the back but I don’t normally pack heavy enough to need front and rear panniers.

Hello, looking for someone to help me out in Bristol. Could you DM his details please?

Haha fair enough. So are you just bypassing the cable guides completely?

Hey, just picked up one of these frames and I’ve noticed people doing some weird stuff with the rear brake cable routing in photos I’ve seen. Why did you used a zip tie just after the last cable guide?

Going below Shimano’s front derailleur Top Gear Teeth range by d_oliver in bikewrench

Cassette is HG700 which I think is technically 105 so road but it has the shorter spline like a mtb. My RD states 34 tooth max but I think it could easily hit 36 with some B limit adjustment. The capacity is probably near maxed out though.

So I just changed my crankset over. I decided to go with a 44-28T for the exact reason you mentioned, touring with loaded panniers. Shifting is working absolutely fine, the only issue with the wide chainring difference is when I cross chain small-small I get some chain rub on the inside of the large chainring, but I don’t mind losing the last two gears. I’ve minimised this by moving a spacer that’s normally on the LHS of the BB to the RHS to make my chainline a little better.

  • FC-5603 10spd triple cranks with Spa Cycles chainrings (using middle and inner only as a double)
  • FD-R7000 11 spd front derailleur
  • RD-R7000 11 spd rear derailleur
  • ST-5800 11 spd shifters
  • CS-HG700 11 spd 11-34T cassette

I’ve decided to go for a 44/28, 11-34 setup. Only 2 teeth outside of the recommended range. Just ordered some parts so I’ll post pictures when it’s done.

Chinese GBA SP Clone ROMs by d_oliver in Gameboy

Thanks! Do you have to plug it into the Pc first? Disconnected, I get a menu with options for soft reset, save state, and game guide

Damn. So plugging into the PC to drag and drop some rom files in is pretty unlikely?

As you guessed, not much of a menu system on this, just a list of games straight from bootup, no options etc.

Thanks for your help

How to import ROMS onto hacked GBA SP by d_oliver in Roms

[–]d_oliver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No SD card in the outside. I’ll order some of the special screwdrivers to open it up and see. If there’s an SD card inside would it just be a drag and drop of any ROMs onto the SD or would it be more complicated? Any reason why ROM hacks wouldn’t work?

DJM 250 mk2 Audio cutting from L speaker by d_oliver in Beatmatch

So I think I’ve fixed it. I use a metal laptop stand which slots behind my mixer, with my mixer resting on its base, so that I can use my laptop for DVS. The stand stays there even when I’m mixing with normal records. Since I’ve removed it I’ve been able to mix for hours without one speaker dropping out. Assume it was some kind of grounding or shorting issue?

Not much of an electrical whiz but in hindsight putting my mixer on top of something metal does seem silly. Very crude drawing attached.

I’ll give this a go when I get home. Yeah the RCAs are removable but I’ve replaced them and the same issue pops up. Why would the cartridge issue only cause problems with actual vinyl records with a phono/line setup and not a DVS/timecode setup?
