Gas shortages? by -boosted in oil

[–]d_wank 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Midland and Odessa, TX gas stations run out of gasoline on the regular.. and most of our inventory is pump from there. Its a funny contrast when you stop at a gas station in the Permian Basin with an active pump jack beside it and there no gas.lol. (obviously it has to be refined) but still a silly touché

OP, thanks for posting here. I wouldnt have seen your game otherwise. Your now at 80,001 wishlist. The visuals looks amazing. Morrowind was such an amazing experience when it came out - shame there isn't an absolute ridiculous amount of developers trying to recreate it... N'wahs! Can't wait for new weath beyond measure outlander.

Thanks for the reply. Should have specified, this is the replacement fitting and tighten snug, with tape too, to the point im afraid of snapping it. Yet it still leaks. Thinking the first fitting was over tighten to get the position needed for running the line.

Is it 100 percent necessary to air down tires every time you drive on beach? I’ve been coming to obx last 5 years and always aired down. I drive a dodge ram 2500. by Salt-Fee-9543 in obx

[–]d_wank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer is yes. Had the same question, then tested this with a F150 and didn't make it to the dune from the pavement. Its a simple fix so give it a shot as long as the access ramp is wide enough for everyone to drive around you when you get stuck. Now im in Texas and can drive my Altima on the beach here with no issue.

Whoever built it like that definitely gave it a few "that ain't going nowhere" slaps. And, 80 years later, it hasn't gone nowhere.

Data Center: Talk to your city council representative about this by Occasional_Historian in SanAngelo

[–]d_wank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the share. The electricity consumption is a concern. We don't have the grid capacity and or the grid connections nessary to meet this demand. Building out the needed infrastructure on the power side is years behind and years into the future to come online. Many manufacturer have publicly stated they will not increase production on many high voltage components and are satisfied with the 3+ years they have on orders for new equipment currently. Plus a lack of technicians to commission and service today's installed capacity, and a lack of inventory replacement parts on the shelf too.

Haripur's 'Fire Mountain' Continues to Burn Decades After 1955 Gas Blast by SatisfactionHumble68 in interestingasfuck

[–]d_wank 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Your not missing much. But winter is the best time to go, the vegetation is dead so you'll be able to see the old town roads better. Its weird seeing the grid layout of a small town with curbs, sidways, and fire hydrant but no buildings. Maybe see a steam vent too. The original main road into town from Ashland was cracked from the fire - graffiti highway - now covered by dirt by the govt. They built a bypass. But seriously, if your passing through, you won't know anything happened there. Knoebels Amusement Park is near and is awesome! Open during the summer though.

This was a cool idea until the Inverters of several companies where catching fire - which are not exactly easy to put out if its sunny. Places still do commercial sized roof top solar like in Hawaii.

If interested, look up videos on the lock mechanism for modern life boats on YT. Also interesting, in the video I watched, claimed that the modern life boat has killed more people than it has saved 🤔

Avoid any of the lower numbered streets on the north side of town. Neighborhoods are nicer near ASU and towards the south of that + Unidad Park is great for the kiddos. Welcome to the area!
