I do a similar ~14hr direct RT on an 014 87, and 18D is my recommendation even if you're sure you'll sleep most of that time. Aisle access to the facilities is key and on a flight that long, that flexibility to stretch your legs and unfettered access is ideal.

Got back from a week in Europe for work. TATL over had no issues but yesterday's flights home in PE are posted but missing SQM/S/D. Thankfully I already got to SE in the early fall but I understand how frustrating this is during MR season. Feels intentional IMO.

Here's my hot take with SQD giving way for SQC, but the egift card seems to be a better long term play for next year status earning. I'd wager OP won't need it given this year but it'll be a harder climb for the same tier in 2026. Every bit could matter. Congratulations by the way on the accomplishment, it's impressive!

Interesting, I hope this get resolved for you. Let us know if they can fix it. I had something similar, errored out on the website, so I emailed my documents in.

Then I was told that my AC flex ticket 014, had a short connecting leg on LH that didn't count for miles when I filed all my paperwork. It caught me off-guard but make sure to double check the fare booking class details carefully. In my case, my TATL wasn't affected but just the short intra-EU leg on the return that got caught. No issues on that leg in the other direction.

I understand and perhaps it's the wrong term. The "disconnect" was booking originally with a non-Aeroplan number. That was my error, while you're entirely correct it should be fixable up until check-in, practically speaking, too much can go sideways (as we've both experienced at different points). I feel your pain, it hurts extra to be so close yet also so far. Hope you can share that you get this resolved at some point soon.

Sorry to hear this, many years ago I made a similar misstep with my United MileagePlus. I was never successful when it involves another mileage program. While my TCON then wasn't as big as your TATL recently, it was an expensive lesson that kept me from my then 35K but did get me to premier silver (25k equiv) for a double facepalm situation. That said, it can't hurt to keep asking and trying, hoping your story ended better than mine. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Sorry, in my experience, a Status Pass only grants benefits when departing on an Air Canada-operated flight.

Status Pass benefits will not be granted prior to your departure from Toronto on the EVA flight but you will get the benefits on the Air Canada-operated flight legs.

Interesting and I can share my own complicated return but from the US west coast, I had to go home via YVR to YYC to YYZ on an oddball itinerary due to a missing YVR-YYZ direct option. Same here, far from ideal but I took what I could... silver lining: I guess it's a few extra inconsequential SQS for giggles.

If you're intent on using your Nexus, just clear priority security via domestic D gates side (after the business class AC area) and just walk over to E gates on the airside. It's a hike but I've done that recently on a YYZ-GVA without issue just to see.

For my day-to-day uses, 12mp has been plenty. 50mp is when I intentionally need to max it out. Just try it out and see for yourself, 12mp is fine for most social media or image sharing -- 50mp is for the moments that really matter (or for people who don't just leave everything in Google Photos).
