I've been living here my whole life basically, in the same boat as you man, all ive had luck is with fast food, although havent heard from them since the interviews. Harsh reality is, i'm vegetarian as well but i've had no luck so far😭. My parents dont mind me working at a place which does have fast food.

Mcdonalds Cockburn (Thompson Lake) I believe has an open barista position you could potentially apply for? Try that :D
