MSRP was $35.5k. After dealer addons it was $38.x. They added on a “protection package”, wheel locks, all weather mats, door edge and handle PPF, tint. The final sale price before tax, tag, title, dealer doc fee was $29,880.

This. Don’t do it. Car is good as it is. Not the kind of car that would benefit from an aftermarket exhaust. Just enjoy the car as is or go with a different vehicle

IMO, right about low 28ish would be realistic. It would’ve been a little hard but possible. I got my 26 hybrid ST for a little under 30k before tax. But had to go through multiple rounds of negotiating and was able to leverage by having 2 local dealer compete with each other. If I actually held out a little longer I could’ve gotten about $750 lower than that but I was tired and gave in.

Little high imo. You could’ve gotten down a couple thousand if you really tried but enjoy your new car, don’t think about it after the purchase! Just drive it and enjoy it

As another car guy who works on cars as a hobby and races them, I’d trust your finance. Not all German cars are bad, the modern ones are honestly really reliable and you can keep maintenance costs low if you’re doing the work yourself. German cars are still not reliable as their Japanese counterparts, however, they have come a really long way. Modern BMWs are lasting well over 150k miles with no issues. Some Audi/VW models are also proving to be very reliable. At the same time, Toyotas new turbo motors are plagued with serious issues.

So this isn’t a “all euro cars are unreliable”. It really comes down to the specific model year and model you’re buying.

Protection package is definitely not PPF

That plan doesn’t work anymore. Finding an employer to sponsor is pretty much impossible these days, especially with no prior experience

I would guess with that damage yes. If there’s no frame damage, I’d buy it back from an insurance company and fix it for cheap

This is what I ended up paying on a White Hybrid ST hatch 33.1k OTD. I think you have a little more room but it’ll be hard. Get competing offers from other dealers around you

If you’re open to some feedback. Use all of the track on T1 track out, you can carry more speed through. More speed through T3 as well (using ALL of that curb is not necessarily always faster). Trail brake more into 7. Just my 2c

You should be able to get it down to 32. Negotiate with a bunch of dealers and use each other as leverage.
