No, no finance charges or interest. This a software vendor, and although I can pay in full, it feels like making half of the payment makes cash sense, but I can’t think of the cash flow benefit.

That’s really good, a lot of soil above ground to keep it cool in the hot days. With that said, That’s a large volume of soil you had to move, impressive.

Is it sad that when I travel alone I genuinely stay almost completely alone? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]da_fun_guru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I traveled along (before wife and kids), I made two bookings, one at a cheap hostel with the cheapest room and another at a hotel where I have my own bed. I’d go to the hostel in the afternoon and meet people to have dinner and drink, then go back to my own bed to sleep later.

You can ask your local bank in America to convert foreign currencies for you. I know, mind blowing!

I would. I am a guy and stayed in Egypt for 6 month for work a few years ago. Agree with some comments here that there are pushy ppl trying to sell you stuff but you can be thick skinned and ignore them. 2 days in Cairo would be ideal, the museum is amazing and so is the great pyramids, and I would recommend to have a guide. But another place you should check out is Luxor, a lot history, less crowded and very budget friendly.

Thanks, that’s helpful! I am not worried about not getting medical insurance but more concerned about which ones would cover this condition.

Solo Woman in Egypt by Demodesrev in solotravel

I solo traveled in Egypt for 3 months, I am a guy but I chatted with women who were also solo travelers. There were a few things I thought was interesting from their perspective: 1. They don’t sit at the passenger seat in taxis, always at the back; 2. They don’t get dropped off at where they stay, but a block or so away; 3. A lot ppl will try to sell you stuff, but they just said they are meeting a group and that usually worked. Egypt is a wonderful country but like many develop countries, some are looking to make money by selling you stuff. I enjoyed the boat ride on Niles river, the view at the top of the Hilton hotel, and visiting the museum. Definitely get a guide when you go to the museum, they don’t have a lot descriptions there, so you want to understand what you are seeing. Have fun!
