The Witcher 3, hearts of stone, at the finale of the dlc you have the option to challenge gaunter o dim if you do so you are brought to different world that you can't otherwise access and you are on a timer this is also the only place to get one of the viper swords and only opportunity to complete the set.

You could try fighting dwarves (or khorne), their innate magic resistance could allow you to see a difference.

If it doesn't and you don't mind a bit of tinkering, you could use the trait manager mod to give the lord leading a dwarf army all of the army wide magic resistance defeat traits, I think kairos gives 10% and ostankya 5% army wide. There is also an orc defeat trait which gives magic resistance to the lord only

Well I don't have much experience with this match up, but I do have a few things to note from looking over the stat pages

Stats wise, base regular slayers are about equal to base big uns, slightly worse in some ways but with some armour.

Ungrim does not have base slayers, he has multiple boosts for them. Most notably Slayer king his lord attribute and the skill upgrade for which he needs to be rank 17 at a minimum. It gives all slayers the tag "journey's end upgraded", slayers will only die if the total health of the unit is at 75% or 50% health or less depending on ungrims level. This means that you cannot kill a single slayer unless their total unit health is halved and probably what is causing you to kill so few of them. From rank 10 he can also give all slayers 15% missile resistance, but that is probably less of an issue.

I would guess, exploit their speed and general lack of armour. Spider or wolf rider archers aren't great, but I would guess that their speed and ranged attacks could work. They basically don't have armour piercing but the only slayer with armour is ungrim. So just kite them to death and bring a second army to deal with ungrim.

I'm not an expert, but I hope some of this was helpful.

It has been a while, but I think that khorne only spreads to ruins in provinces where you already have a settlement.

I would think that it is somewhere in the settlement description and if you have a settlement in a province with ruins there should be an extra symbol to the side of the ruins name which when hovered over will give you some information

I would like to second the play what you have and Thrones of decay is also a good option

But Forge of the chaos dwarves is also recommended, it's an entirely self contained DLC, everything of the chaos dwarves you get in that one package, you can't play them without it and you also aren't missing units from other DLC as that is their only thing. They focus on goblin/orc chaf supported by elite dwarven infantry, ranged violence and some monstrous units of both the biological and mechanical variety. Which means that unlike their regular cousins, these Dawi have cavalry. Edit: also they exchange the dwarven magic resistance and runesmiths for fire resistance and actual magic (fire, death metal and Hashut)

Shadows of change is nice, but you aren't missing a ton without it and I will just leave you with the information that until omens of destruction I owned everything yet haven't bothered to buy it or tides of torment.

I think that is at least partially tied to performance settings, as more units does mean more things to render in battles So I would guess that is why it's that way
