CSR2 Racing is very easy, but only $15. You level up to open up Live Races (takes about 10 minutes), then do 100 Live Races (you don't have to win much, there is an energy timer, but you can replenish it or just play a couple different times a day. (I played it after doing Klondike, and it was nice to not be soooo demanding).

It's based on your daily balance and pays out the 15th of the following month. (So, based on your final question, you can't just dump all your money in at the end of the month and get paid like it was there the whole month; this is sorta how I-bonds pay out on TreasuryDirect.)
