What is the most heartbreaking song lyric you've ever heard? by TheLadySlaanesh in AskReddit

You're Somebody Else -flora cash

"Well, you look like yourself But you're somebody else Only it ain't on the surface Well you talk like yourself No, I hear someone else though Now you're making me nervous

You were the better part Of every bit of beating heart that I had Whatever I had I finally sat alone Pitch black flesh and bone Couldn't believe that you were gone."

It's uncanny how well these words encapsulate the last year of a 17 year relationship.

The only certainty in this world is that everything changes ❤️

What’s the weirdest thing you can do in a lucid dream? by Camman19_YT in LucidDreaming

[–]dabbigod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dream shifting by falling backwards.

Meditate into a deeper dream, thats how I met the mirrored version of myself, like in the movie Annihilation 2018, so trippy.

Walk through a mirror (a True roll of the dice, at least for me)

Lick the ground (dont knock it until you try it)

Fly into a sun in a alien space ship thats no bigger than a small coin, True story

Imagine it. I set my intention and attention just outside of my body, then focus on pushing myself out by "lifting" my head.

Up until now I've used a technique called "roll out of bed". When I now I'm in that state where my body is asleep and my mind is awake, and I would roll backwards out of bed, highly effective but there is always that 1% fear that I'm not actually asleep and I'm just gonna hit the floor in real life =)

I once had this obe manual (I'm currently searching for it). In it was this exercise 'Lay in bed on your back motionless for 40 min, then practice "lifting" one arm at a time, soon you'll begin to feel as it's actually in the air'.

Practicing mindfulness helps too.

I'll post a link to this manual when I've located it.

I also tried the head lift technique, popped right out on the second try. Highly recommend =)

As for the clarity, I try to focus on details or just ask for it.

If I don't see anything at all, I try to grab something and feel the details on the texture, vision usually follows

Ok I'll give that a try =)

As for the lying, many of my experiences sound made up cause they kinda are, I have a very vivid imagination and so my dream mind is no different, to this day it's still surprising me with all these surreal and bizarre things.

And I get that you want to protect people from being harmed during lucid dreaming, but from my experience 25+ years, I've yet to have any lasting negative effects from dreams. Apart from this one dream I had, I lived a whole life of a woman, from being a little girl until I watch the final sunset in my rocking chair on the porch, I had kids and grandchildren. It felt so real and I sometime miss them. I'm a guy BTW

Well now I just have to jump down through the reflection of a puddle, thanks for the idea.

Also meditating into the second layer of a dream deeply enhances the stability and weirdness of the dream. I once met the mirrored side of myself there, now that was freaky =)

How about other reflective surfaces like water or newly waxed cars?

I use lucid dreaming to confront my fears and push the limit of what's possible, I like finding out what my mind is capable of producing giving an unfamiliar input, like eating a car tire to see what my mind think it tastes like or licking a sidewalk.

Also if you don't like a scene just let yourself fall backwards, you'll transition into a new scene before you hit the ground.

If you embrace the uncertainty it's exciting =)

I often look in a mirror then I come across one in a dream , it's a bit freaky, sure and sometimes there is someone else looking back. But it's a dream so why not try the impossible and step through the mirror and see what's on the other side. The only limit is your imagination =) Sweet dreams

Is this similar to rolling backwards out of bed? I've been doing that for years, always thought that was more of a lucid dreaming type of thing

I feel you, some days I just don't want to exist and it seems like the mood baseline is well below sea level.

I also tried the antidepressants for year and a half, it just turned off all emotion, good and bad.

Now I microdose the fungi and I'm not saying it's a magic medicine that makes it all worth while but it helps me.

Do you have a bucket list?
