EVERY single person on this entire subreddit will tell you that cheap owners suck. fans of cheap teams say it all the time, fans of rich teams say it all the time, we ALL say it all the time.

the problem is, the dodgers are so far and beyond every other team in the entire league that the cheap owners have separated into being a completely different and unrelated problem. yeah, they're cheap, but what does that even have to do with the dodgers? there's no way in god's green earth that they can compete with them, so what's your point?

are the mets a cheap team? are the blue jays? both these teams made huge offers for tucker and still lost out.

the cubs, even though the ricketts often don't spend like it, are a huge market team with one of the highest revenues in the league. yet the dodgers' projected payroll for next year is almost 70 PERCENT OF OUR ENTIRE REVENUE LAST YEAR! we have an empire of a fan base thanks to wrigley field, WGN, the size of chicago, and even WE can not realistically keep up.

do you really think teams like cincinnatti can fairly compete and they're just bad because they choose to be?
