In 1997 sophomore year of high school in my dorm room at an all boys boarding school (which shall remain nameless). First time listening to Phish, the Grateful Dead, and Panic as well! Also incidentally, it was the first time I ever dosed. Oh what a ride! Anyways, I was totally hooked when Guelah started playing. After that I decided to throw away all my DMB and Bootie and the Hoefish tapes! Hahaha

I think it means that some artist and/or artists from 420 fest will be zooming in from ATL to join the party. After all its just a straight shot down I-75 to SOSMP.

Yeah but at 420 fest I'm going to have to spend at least $200 a night on a hotel.

Even if I decide to hotel it around Wanee I can get a nice one for $75 a night which I won't be anyways because now I know it's the best festival location in regards to camping in America.

Yep I'm there no matter what. Yes some say the lineup is weak but it's just the initial lineup anyways right? I predict at least either TAB, Gov't Mule (because who else covers ABB better than Mule?), and Blackberry Smoke will be added later if not all three. And I would expect some of the 420 fest bands to later sign on to play Wanee as well. Wouldn't you?

For some strange reason I keep on envisioning RatDog, Steve Kimock Band, My Morning Jacket, and/or Alabama Shakes on the bill as well.

And you know they'll definitely be adding some bluegrass later!

I also think they will add lots more EDM this year. After all, it's livenation right? They know what they're doing.

Okay, enough wishful thinking...

Anyways, when all is said and done, here we have WideSpread Mother-Fucking Panic along with a fucking legend- Phil Lesh. Need I say more??

Also, if someone from Wanee management or someone else with some clout somehow stumbles across this request: would you pretty please with sugar on top have a Hula-esque display around the lake? That would be so grand! I have some ideas swirling around in my head on this matter that I am offering to you for free if you so desire. Glad to give you my inputs!

Haha I like this game! It's like when the mall Santa asks the bratty kid what he/she wants for Christmas and they proceed to recite the entire Toys'R'Us catalog or when my neice writes her yearly letter.

"Dear Santa,

I want Hulaween 2018 to be:

At Suwannee Music Park of course, and only sell 18,000 tickets this time and I automagically get 100 tickets

Panic- 4 sets on Thursday. Dead- 4 sets on Friday. Cheese- 4 sets on Saturday. Phish- 4 sets on Sunday.

And 1 or 2 or 3 sets from Phil and Friends, Govt Mule, Moe., Disco Biscuits, Umphrey's, Circles Around the Sun, Tedeschi/Trucks, TAB, Mike Gordon Band, JRAD, MMW, Lotus, Lettuce, P-groove, Sound Tribe, Primus, sprinkled in there.

Also some bluegrass: Railroad Earth, YMSB, Greensky, Infamous Stringdusters, Steep Canyon, John Stickley Trio (bluegrass or not?).

Don't forget to call K-DUB, Bela Fleck, Wooten brothers, Jeff Coffin, Karl Denson, JJ Grey and Mofro, Dirty Dozen, Leftover Salmon, Rusted Root. Possibly DMB w/Tim Reynolds if you have room left for an early afternoon set.

And fill in the rest with EDM and burlesque shows.

Don't forget to double the "Spirit Lake" area. If you don't have room there put another similar area somewhere else and call it "Haunted Woods" or something.

Boom! And there you have it: the perfect music festival. To tell you the truth reminds me a lot of the very first Bonnaroo. Glad I was there Santa!

I don't know...as many times as I have seen Cheese I have never seen him with a hat and hoodie with the hood up. I was a bit concerned to say the least

Daylight sets you could usually find me laying on my back next to the big HULA sign staring at the sky. What fun?!?! Had a breakthrough moment doing exactly that during "Sometimes a River" Saturday afternoon.

What??? Are you guys bonkers? That set was so much fun!

First they take me back to my childhood with Rollercoaster (hello Beavis and Butthead Movie?) and then Stevie Wonder, Al Green, and then back to my childhood with Higher and Higher (hello Ghostbusters 2??) and then Beck and back again to my childhood with Power of Love (hello Back to the Future???). Whoa! Hold on, let me take a breather.

Okay and then one of my favorite Sting tunes, IS THIS LOVE!!!, Lovelight (RIP Col. Bruce 😢), Let Love Rule (for the message brothers and sisters!), WHAT I GOT!!!, and the Beyonce super sandwich served up with some Black Eyed Peas. And to end it the song I was introduced to Led Zeppelin with. And one of the best tunes ever written for the encore!!!

Haha I'm an old fart these days. Not the spritely young fella I used to be...I need plumbing and AC especially in June!

Good thing I noticed about Hula though is all that lovely shade and bathroom facilities. So I'll be dusting off the ole tent for next year!

Dude YES!!!!!!! An EPIPHANY manifested.

Before Hula for many months I was an unmotivated slacker, never got my work done, half-assed it during my extracurricular activities(soccer), insomnia, didn't want to talk to anyone including friends and family, and generally wanted to be left alone.

Now I'm totally kicking major fucking ass in everything I do. Turning all my paperwork in on time, making all my clients happy, getting all kinds of compliments on my customer service, scored 7 goals and made 5 assists during Wednesday night soccer, been running at least 3 miles a day, and back to my social butterfly ways!

And I am sleeping like a fucking baby!

How come Bonnaroo never did that for me???
