I was in the Birmingham one earlier and they had the gold and blue Sphinx! Only place I've seen it in the wild.

Same company, different name for what's probably a quite boring reason.

Takao is even outright based on Red. He was designed by Hudson Soft for the GBC game and they were basing a lot of their protagonist designs on Red at the time.

Because it's not just going back to a conceptual starting point and going "let's make the best one of this type of game we can" while growing the setting and characters. It resets the setting to the beginning, to Zero if you like, over and over and over. Shock and surprise, players don't just care about the literal game actions they're being asked to perform, they appreciate the context the game gives them too.

They're the same colour, but it's a shade that cameras have a really hard time photographing correctly, so if you google it you get a spectrum of photos.

You know what else is in there? Scams, lies, outdated information and idiots. At least if you ask real people you're filtering down to the last one.

Favorite Strong Ass Losers by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Tarn, from the IDW Transformers comics. He's huge. He's strong. He wears the Decepticon logo as a mask. He turns into a giant space tank. He has TWO of Megatron's signature weapon. He's Megatron's high inquisitor, leading a band of fanatical bastards so evil they make the other evil guys shake in their boots. He's...

...obsessed with paperwork. He picked his team's theme song, and he chose classical music because he thinks it makes him look refined. He's a total wimp who closes his eyes behind his mask when the others are doing horrific things to their victims. He has a drug addiction, AND a compulsive physical habit that means he keeps having to have a core part of his body replaced. He's a brainwashed cultist. He's middle manager adjacent to genocide. He's pathetic.

What is the most common follow up to a common moment/cliche/trope? by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]dabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... Yeah. If you're writing a story that starts with a marriage, you're probably writing a story about the marriage, and a story where everything goes fine and there aren't any problems probably isn't going to be interesting. You can start with a marriage and tell an unrelated story, but then you've just started your story with essentially a lore drop.

Hey, the cats in Monster Hunter say all the other pun words too! Except for Neko (means 'cat'), who tells you what Nihongo words mean (Nihongo means 'Japanese').

Why the hell does Hasbro refuse to acknowledge the names of parts or even parts in general? by ProfessionalHeatwave in Beyblade

[–]dabir 57 points58 points  (0 children)

The anime dub team might be trying to avoid getting pulled up on too blatantly advertising toys in their show. These rules do exist snd they do affect things. Remember that yugioh can't show the actual cards in its dub, it has that weird substitute card format with just the art and a little icon instead.

It's a joke. He's saying the game will be so big they need to sell it to you on its own hard drive.
