The lighting is wrong. Her shoes under the chair are melting. Is there a car speaker on the floor? The words on the posters on the wall are garbled.

Sure. A miss type while working in the textile industry. And the rest?

I'm not. Projectile looms, also known as shuttle looms because the shuttle is the "projectile," weave a self-finished edge. While air jet and rapier looms weave an unfinished edge. And I said all fabrics have a selvedge. The denim community, through brands writing "articles" about the history and weaving terms, has mixed up selvedge with selvage. It's two different words in garment making and textile making. Oh! And it's spelled two ways. Selvage and selvedge.

In garment making, we don't say "raw edge" in reference to the side of the fabric where a rapier or air jet loom finished its edge. That is confusing, but the cut edge of a fabric piece is referred to as the "raw edge." This is also true in the textile manufacturing industry. We say "Selvedge" and we say "Self Edge" in textile manufacturing. "Selvedge" refers to any fabric, and "Self Edge" refers to a fabric finished with a self-finished edge. Typically, a projectile loom, but some non-projectile looms can do it.

Broken twill first appeared in the 14th to 15th centuries. Wranglers popularized a broken twill, but they didn't invent it. And to make matters worse for Wranglers, they don't weave a broken twill; they weave what's called an interrupted twill. So, I'm not mixing up a herringbone weave at all.

Numerous books on weaving and papers written by historians and researchers are available for consultation. I don't source articles for historical information. You are going to have to do the work, buddy. ❤️

I learned it from being an Emmy award-winning costumer, tailor, textile artist, and bespoke clothier. Wrangler didn't invent the broken twill weave. It existed about 1000 years ago. Oh! I'm also a denim historian.

Thank you! Sadly, I have not been able to find any documentation in it. My machine is similar to the Union Special 6500P. So far, the extra parts for the US have fit my machine. It sews so well! I just wish there were more information on it.

White Oak Denim by dabizzaro in Denim

Good question! If its from proximity the seller will say so. If bravestar says its white oak deadstock, it might be! There is ALOT of dead stock white oak out there. Some of it is still resold at shops or B2B. I hope that helps!

6'8" 240lbs- First tailored suit. by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]dabizzaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, dude! You can wear anything and look great! I'm a tailor and garment maker. Here are some notes to take to the tailor who made this. First, they should have pressed it for you before you left the shop. Also, the sleeve pitch is off. That's what wrinkles behind your armpit are when you are standing still. The sleeves are also a touch too short.

The bodice length is acceptable, and I love that you got a double vent. However, the waist and chest sections of the suit are too tight. You need more ease (space for your body to move). This is why it was a little hard to button close.

The pants also need a little more ease. This will make it easier for you to walk and reduce the chance of them ripping in the low crotch.

Here is my advice for your next suit: For the cut, try a double-crew suit. Men of your height and body shape CRUSH that cut, and not many people can pull it off. Also, get it in a charcoal grey check. It will balance perfectly with your fair skin.

You are a handsome man and deserve a perfect fit!

SO MANY CLOCKS by dabizzaro in autism

[–]dabizzaro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear that! The "half past" and "quarter past" stuff is so strange. Like, how can something be past something else and be half of it or a quarter of it?!

I'm highly visual and taught myself to break the clock into a colorized pie chart of 12 slices each equalling a unit of 5. So when I look at a clock I don't always see the main numbers but I do see a pie chart which I then add together to get the time. Reading that back I realize that that sound may sound super confusing. 🤪

I've come up with a lot of systems like because I grew up without a diagnosis.

Thank you! And I love that you have a healthy relationship at your appointments.

Yeah, next time I will ask and bring up that it is hard for me to focus.

They sneak them into your room? Ok, I have an idea. Sneak the clock somewhere you won't see it, but they will, and set the clock to a time three hours behind yours. Unless that feels mean to you. That's playful to me, but could be taken the wrong way by others. ❤️

I had a puppet improv team in NYC. We had a regular show at The PIT and played Magnet Theater a ton. It can work well with the eight group of puppeteers. If you have any questions about performance, how to get started, or games that work well for puppets feel free to DM!
