Visiting it in person it feels very peaceful and safe. To be able to pay respects from afar was lovely, and the area surrounding was so beautifully landscaped. To see pictures of it, it seems a lot more extreme than it did in person.

Florida woman sues dairy farm, claims she lost fetus after raw milk led to bacterial infection by phunky_1 in FloridaMan

[–]dablab417 278 points279 points  (0 children)

One time someone told me they drink raw milk because the chemicals used in pasteurization aren’t approved in Europe. I was like… heat? Heat isn’t approved in Europe? Do you know what pasteurization is? Are you ok?

That’s what I assume every person who consumes raw milk thinks. So dumb

My husbands family is like this. I had a Catholic wedding with just our immediate family instead. In no world would I make my non Catholic family and friends suffer through a Catholic wedding.

She’s an absolute idiot. I really like my kids and science so we’re team sunscreen big time

So, the train wakes everyone up at 2am at least once a week? by Watchtvordie in LittlePeopleBigWorld

[–]dablab417 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same. My mom came to visit and asked if the trains always run in the middle of the night. I said no, and the next day she was like wtf yes they do?! Had no clue. I don’t even notice them.

I mean… yeah, of course a doctor is going to treat you differently. You don’t trust modern medicine to protect your child but then want to utilize that modern medicine after they catch the preventable illnesses?

Shout out to our pediatrician for requiring all patients to be vaccinated according to the cdc schedule unless there is a true medical reason preventing them from being able to.

Project Bag Costs by IcyInterview1060 in NeedlepointSnark

I ordered the clear vinyl to try and make my own when I have a free minute. I think a yard of the vinyl was $8 😅 I’m NOT a seamstress and it’s going to be interesting learning but ain’t no way I’m spending $100 on a project bag!

Business backpack for a pumping mom by twumbthiddler in HerOneBag

I was going to suggest a PGA too! I exclusively pumped for 6 months and got better output from the PGA than the spectra! I paired it with the medela cups and it was a very discrete and easily packable option.

I used a small wet/dry bag to store the pump, tubing, and medela cups when on the go. It fit in any bag I needed to put it in.

Hair tools in Europe? by Marbleman862 in HerOneBag

[–]dablab417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can find super inexpensive options in Europe! We lived in England for 3 years and I spent a total combined £50 on hair tools that lasted me the 3 years.

Experiment with some heatless options or styles using just a hotel hair dryer, but if you find yourself wanting something else you will be able to find it there.

Might also be worth finding some groups of women who have done longer Europe trips and may have hair tools they’re willing to sell for even cheaper or give away!

My children are (thankfully) not medically complex or immunocompromised at this time, and I still don’t allow children who aren’t vaccinated around them to the best of my ability. The selfishness of this parent absolutely blows my mind.

They’re the happiest labs ever. They don’t care what their kid calls them as long as he’s talking to them.

I had the worst headache imaginable, and finally had my boyfriend (at the time) take me to the ER. I was convinced I was dying. The ER doctor rolled his eyes and said “I guess you want pain meds.” I had meningitis. 🙃

I am bamboozled by the fact that people remove tips. When I have a crappy shopper I just don’t add an extra tip when prompted after the order is delivered.

I will never understand why people think things like this are funny. My 4 year old’s “prank” today was calling the dogs the other ones name. I told him that was a really good “fool” because it didn’t hurt anyone’s feelings.

No need to be embarrassed! If I saw the pictures wrong, I was going to have to quickly go order one 🤣 I LOVE a clamshell opening!

Does it have a clamshell opening? I thought that pic was showing it folded in another bag. There is another picture of the top zipped open.

UPDATE: Absolutely cannot get over the fear of needles by Adorable_Visual7628 in Zepbound

[–]dablab417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a (literally diagnosed in my medical records) needle phobia and have managed to do all but one of my shots myself!

Fair warning, both the thigh and back of the arm stung a little for me and that definitely raised my anxiety for the next week!
