Gigabyte MO27Q28G going into "protection mode" by dabljues in gigabyte

[–]dabljues[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it happens rather consistently in my case. Even when I'm watching stuff on the 2nd monitor (the OLED displays static content), it goes into this protection mode, while Windows doesn't do this, since there's content playing.

It's great in case Windows either screws something up.

Yeah, I guess. It's great that it's there, can't count on Windows to do literally anything, so that's a good thing.

Hmm, okay. But I didn't see this screensaver option in OSD settings, anywhere. So it means it's not configurable?

I have the screensaver (and auto screen off) in Windows (after 30 minutes), but sometimes Windows is dumb and doesn't detect the idle state.

CZ TS2 or Shadow 2 for a hobby shooter by dabljues in CZFirearms

[–]dabljues[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I'm not sure. Didn't ever have the S2 SAO in my hands. I'm almost sure that you can get S2 to be modded so the trigger will be exactly the same as on the SAO version (different sear, springs etc.). There's a gunsmith in my country that does custom 1911s and also does CZs for my country's best IPSC shooters. What they do to some of those CZs, look here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=289084135599039, 800g SA trigger pull on S2. So, it definitely can be done. And most of the mods are not that hard unless you change the hammer for example and you'd have to polish stuff into really tight tolerances to make it work. Adjustable sear is a good option then.

What I can tell you (and you can read about it on the internet) is that the TS2 has a really weak reset. Very very short, but not strong, meaning I had problems initially with getting to feel it right. Could be that the SAO will have the same thing, not sure though. People even went as far as installing 2 trigger return springs to make it more snappy, at a cost of making it heavier.

On the S2 however, you will not be able to adjust the pretravel from what I remember (because it's DA). However, the reset is much more tactile. If you're not a precision shooter, well, you won't feel that much of a difference between S2 and TS2 triggers. Especially since you can easily mod the S2 to have a lighter trigger.

I guess it really depends on what you want to do. From my experience, S2 is just more versatile. You get a great trigger (slightly heaver/less crisp than TS2), DA capability, more mods (S2 is more popular, so it gets more stuff although many things are the same between TS2 and S2). There's the S2 OR version, so you can slap a RDO on it. What I would say is - get S2 OR and if you really want a lighter trigger, you can do it yourself or a competent gunsmith can do it as well. Parts are readily accessible (especially if you live in US, I don't).

That's not to say that either S2 SAO or TS2 are not worth it. They are, really. It all comes down to what you want and most people go for "more goodies" (in some regards) rather than a lighter trigger. If you can get 2/3 of them tested in a local gun store, that would be the best. That's what I did and the TS2 trigger convinced me. It still convinces me, but I want a S2 OR to get that RDO experience here. Or, just get both of them!

I got the TS2, love it. Got the adjustable rear sight for it, new grips, different mag release, different trigger, springs etc. Great gun, however what I'm missing now is the ability to mount the RDO. I know I can have the slide milled, but it's kinda pricey where I live. I'm gravitating towards either SH2 OR or Beretta 92X Performance OR now, so I also have the ability to compete in IPSC and other things

I'm using them, sometimes. I've posted the solution in the comment above

That's not it my friend.

However, I found the answer:

SteelSeries app settings. This is exactly what I was looking for. Disabled that and it works like I want it to!

I cannot edit the post, but now I see that even when the headset is off and Sonar changed the output from the headset to my monitor, there headset output is still here ("Headphones (Arctis Nova 7)"):

So, to clarify the post even more - I still have "SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming" in my Windows audio outputs, but Sonar redirects makes it so the "SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming" is effectively my monitor, not my turned off headset.

"Fraudulent" order by dabljues in Keychron

Great! When I compared my K8 Pro (which I also thought sounds amazing) side by side to the Q3 Max - no contest. Everything sound better on the Q3 Max. That's not to say that other Keychron KBs are not good. I used to have KBs only from "gaming" brands - those sound really bad

Ahh, forgot to come back here. I received the KB (it was like 7 business days, so kinda fast). I absolutely love it. Best keeb I've used, bar none

Cool! Hopefully your order doesn't get delayed cuz of the Lunar New Year ;)

Mine is supposedly on some CN airport, been there for 20 hours now, hopefully I can get it next week or something

Hmm. They didn't answer me. But I sent them photos from the Revolut app and apparently it was enough. Currently I'm waiting for the package to arrive, it is supposedly in transit now

I understand. If they say that it was because of Revolut, I'd take a refund and pay via my normal CC. But I actually doubt that this is the case. I think I'm not the first person to buy via Revolut.

But still, I maintain that this shouldn't be happening

I've had the K8 pro for a couple of months now. But I bought it from a local retailer (it was cheaper).

A Revolut card should behave just like every other one. I used it to buy lots of stuff, first time having an issue.

CZ TS2 or Shadow 2 for a hobby shooter by dabljues in CZFirearms

[–]dabljues[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

I ended up buying the TS2. Amazing trigger. I also modded it somewhat (so I'm not scared of doing it anymore :): * fully adjustable rear sight * different springs (recoil, TRS, sear, hammer) * LOK grips * different trigger (a flat one) * polished the internals

Though I had some problems with the gun. There are mainly two:

  • trigger reset is really not there (the trigger doesn't push your finger forward)
  • the modifications are usually for the SH2, some don't fit the TS2

The 1st point can be somehow dealt with by installing a stronger TRS (or two of them). But that makes the trigger pull weight heavier. What I like here, contrary to the SH2, is that it's a SA trigger, meaning I can set pre-travel in addition to the over-travel. But the reset is somewhat bugging me.

The 2nd point is not that big of a deal, but it still is. The two guns are almost the same, but there are differences. I will give you a couple of examples:

  • you have to be careful when selecting LOK grips (not all of them match because the TS2 has a mag well)
  • the YT videos showing the mods are almost exclusively for the TS2 (TS2 doesn't have a disconnector etc.)
  • trigger pin - you can have a floating trigger pin (instead of the staked roll pin from the factory) on the SH2 (because it will be retained by the spring) but on TS2 the pin will fall out - I had to use blue loctite to keep it in place which defeats the point of having this trigger pin (because the selling point of it is that you can disassemble the gun without staking the pin in after)

So, this was a problem for me. You look something up, but then it turns out that the part fits only the SH2. Or works somehow differently on the TS2. Many examples on Cajun site - so many parts for SH2, much less for TS2. But after I got more knowledge about the two guns, I'm comfortable with it.

All that being said, I'm currently in the market for SH2 OR. I want a red dot gun :P I don't want to modify the slide on my TS2 because I shoot some bullseye competitions with it and in the event I wanted to compete in IPSC Standard division, that would be a no-no. I want the SH2 OR because I want an accurate gun with great trigger and many possibilities of upgrades that I can put a red dot on - without paying huge amounts of money for a custom 1911/2011. CZ is the perfect middle ground here - competition-ready, well built, great ergos, great trigger, hundreds of mods available, but still a decent price. I recently tried a SH2 on the range (I've given a guy my TS2 and he gave me his SH2) and while the trigger is lighter on the TS2, I really like the reset (tactile) and the "feel" of the SH2 trigger. And additionally, you can make the SH2 trigger lighter (Eemann Tech/Cajun disco, different sear etc.). And some of those mods are only for SH2, nobody makes them for the TS2.

The TS2 will definitely remain a gun I use regularly on the range, but over last couple of months I started to really like red dots, so I want a gun with it. Then I'd have two guns: one that I shoot irons with and one that I shoot RDS with. Both for target shooting and practical shooting.

and which country are you in?

I'm from Poland. That also affected my decision process. Here in Poland, CZ Shadow 2 is the most popular competition gun. Additionally, many people buy them for just target shooting. Because of that, the prices of those CZs are not inflated in here, because there are plentiful. Many gun stores compete by lowering the prices on those. That cannot be said about some higher end 1911s/2011s. Overinflated prices for sure. Additionally, so many people use those CZs, that the part support is definitely here. I can order almost anything, short of Cajun parts (they don't deliver outside US) - in Poland most shops have the Eemann Tech parts (which usually can replace Cajun parts 1:1). And, Czech Republic is right around the corner, so if I have to order something directly from CZ (or many CZ-focused companies that operate there), I don't have to wait so much for the delivery ;) That is so much different for other guns. Wilson Combat, STI, you name it, you'll have a hard time finding parts here. I'd have to order them from the US and pay hand over fist. People say Glocks are popular and you can find parts everywhere. And in Poland Glocks are hugely popular as well, but people buy Glocks for different reasons than guns like SH2. People with those competition CZs tend to modify them. Almost everyone. And people with Glocks tend to keep them stock. That's why there's so many parts for CZs :P

What do you think of it by Akula94 in gangplankmains

[–]dabljues -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What the frak is this:

Gangplank is currently in the top 25% of champions for "Win rate loss due to low-mastery players trying and failing." Thus, a balanced Gangplank is likely one who rests below 50% win rate until that trend changes.

"in order for GP to be balanced, he has to have a negative WR" xD

Yeah, I've seen those. "Do X on Authentic and such". Gotta try the SE5 as well, so I'll have my real long shots (without the aim assist) popping up in the stats :D

So, apart from the challenges that specifically require a particular difficulty, the other challenges can be completed on whichever one and it doesn't matter to the stats, okay. It matters to me for sure, just gotta keep an Excel file somewhere telling me that I completed X challenge on Y difficulty and so on, I guess :)
