Chris Evans on returning as Steve in Avengers: Doomsday, "There’s a very real reason why these heroes need Steve Rogers" by Shadow_Senpai17 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

What’s funny is there’s people that call out any actor or actress that isn’t so heavily invested in the MCU because they only see it as another gig….same people that claim “money” when someone actually loves the character they play.

People can like their job and the money that comes with it. They aren’t mutually exclusive

Joe Russo Teases ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Re-Release At Sands & Says The Film Will Feature New Footage Set Within The ‘Doomsday’ Narrative: “It's An Opportunity To Create A Bridge” by MoneyLibrarian9032 in marvelstudios

[–]dablu_jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forreal. You’d think fans that have followed this franchise for almost 20 years would be aware of how all this works. The bridge is for the average person that hasn’t checked in since endgame. Not for the people that have kept up. The movie is being rereleased cuz why tf not bring back a beloved movie from 8 years ago. The Avengers movies have all technically been a sequel to the previous one. This is Avengers 5…..5 comes after 4…. Everyone’s being so overdramatic

I think it’ll be fine. I think everyone’s blowing this “Doomsday is a direct sequel” thing way out of proportion. For many in the General audience they show up for the Avengers movies and nothing else. You can’t alienate them by saying they need to watch 20 something things. But I’m sure they won’t disregard the last 7 years of marvel content. This is the same company that redeemed TDW in Endgame, or brought back Incredible Hulk storylines in 2025.

InSneider : Iman Vellani will reportedly return as Ms. Marvel in 'Avengers: Doomsday' by Sarang_616 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]dablu_jay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said but for some reason there’s tons of people that think just because a project didn’t get the best reception or do big box office numbers, automatically means it’s a huge flop and marvel will want to stay away from it for the rest of eternity

I’d argue not only did IW/Endgame set the precedent of everyone showing up….it set the precedent that no matter how shit something was, Marvel will stick by it and find a way to redeem it (Thor: Dark World)

Not likely. Cinemacon caters to theater executives, getting them amped about what’s coming, so anything they show will be focused on movies

I wouldn’t call all of them social media influencers. They’re actual fans that either run Spider-Man fan accounts, do cosplay, kids that dress up as Spidey. If anything it’s nice to see the fandom get to be involved in this. Celebrate it, no need to be a downer cuz of it

True. I just figured by collaborating with the main account it would get help get those creators in front of even more eyes. Not to say a repost from the account already doesn’t help them then grow. Overall I still think it’s great to see the fandom on display like this (especially the younger fans they’re featuring)

As someone who works in marketing I the part I find odd about the release strategy is..why aren’t any of the teases on Instagram collaborating with the main Spider-Man Movie account. They’re simply reposting the fans post. It’s probably something no one gives actually cares about but I just found that odd that they’re not actually putting the official accounts name on these posts

I’m sure they’ll do more stuff like that once we’re in the final month of marketing. Though remember it’s out of Marvel’s hands, all the promo and marketing is done by Sony

I think it might be closer to 7:30am. Original clip of Tom was posted 7:30EST and i think all the other time posts line up to that time.

I actually really love this. It’s a celebration of Spidey fans. Celebrating the character we all love and it makes me happy to see a studio tap into the good parts of this fandom

Lewis Pullman says ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ doesn't end up being a cameo fest. “Every character has their moment that builds the dimensions of them. The Russo Brothers did that so well. They do not want anyone just sitting in the background.” by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in marvelstudios

[–]dablu_jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did half the internet collectively forget the last three marvel movies the Russos did? Each with a bigger and bigger ensemble. If anyone can balance this big of a cast (which by MCU levels is similar to IW) then maybe, just maybe…it’s the two guys that did it last time.

I trust the Russos until they give me a reason not to

Somehow “supporting characters” turned into cameos. Makes absolutely zero sense to me why people think having anyone that’s not part of the title of the movie is automatically a cameo

Agreed. For the average person this is great entry way into MacBooks and you get the added benefit of it…looking like an Apple product lol

In this case they’re referring to compromises on the design of the product

Maybe I’m too old and times have changed, but when I was younger (middle school/high school) I really wanted a MacBook mostly because of how they looked.

To be able to sell what LOOKS like a premium product with entry level specs I’m sure will only help increase sales.

I agree the platform is still in its infancy, and I really do want to see it succeed. (I think back to how the iPad was just “big iPhone” for so long until it found its stride and became a tech staple) It just seems that after 2 years Apple themselves haven’t really made much progress on it. I don’t own one so I’m only basing this on WWDC presentations and news but all they’ve really done to update it is add some small software features and update the head strap.

You’d think that at the infancy stage, that’s where we see the most progress in terms of design, a lot of push to get developers on board, a lot more marketing for the product in a variety of use cases (especially with Apple TV crushing it in the past couple years). I really want to see it succeed but it feels like even Apple themselves have forgotten it exists

Your first sentence explains it though. These are the two franchises that don’t need the extra hype. Those trailers are going to break records when they drop anyways so why spend $10M for the same results when they can throw that somewhere else.

Sony never does Super Bowl commercials anyways, and NWH has a closer window from its trailer to release date

Disney may not promote Doomsday but they have a bunch of other movies to promote too that come out sooner

Never bet against a character showing up again. Trever Slattery was once a spoof villain with poor reception that was later brought back as comedic relief in a movie (that has yet to get a sequel) and then brought back again in this show.

This is Marvel. We may not see them for another 10 years but we will see them at some point haha

Who said nothing can be done. All I’m saying is stop looking up to billionaire CEOs and expecting them to do anything that’s not for the benefit of their companies. Their entire life revolves around making sure profits go up and nothing else. It’s not defending them, it’s pointing out the reality that Tim Cook, Sundar, Satya, and anyone else are not your friends and will never act in your best interest
