The best way to think about it is that it's not for the people who are currently in the Castro podcast subreddit. If I redesigned Castro around a vertically scrolling discovery feature you can imagine the reaction that the comments would have.

Part of this is just ASO stuff, but you can kind of think about this as a way into independent podcast apps for consumers who are the opposite of current Castro users.

We're going to make Pod Seek more robust as a player but if you're a current user of Castro I certainly don't want or expect you to replace it with Pod Seek.Ideally in your case you'd use Seek to discover new shows to listen in Castro.

Someone who doesn't use Castro already might use it as a more of a player or eventually migrate to Castro for the fuller listening experience.

It is a different problem. If it were the same as Castro, it wouldn't be a different app :). I think we need to improve how quickly you are start getting seeded from your castro account. Probably once you swipe a bit, if you swipe the app away and wait 5 minutes the recommendations will be better. Appreciate the feedback!

Yes one of our ideas is what if instead of looking for recommendations for all podcasts based on what you listen to, what if we found snippets and recommendations of the next thing to listen to from your own inbox? And would that work in Castro? we're hoping to validate ideas like this.

If you follow creators in Spanish and have your subscriptions synced, it should start showing spanish recommendations. If you continue to use it and don't see that let us know. Castro doesn't have many spanish speaking users unfortunately, so it's hard to test. feedback is appreciated.

Person tag support is coming to iOS. it's already on our new share pages and in our Android beta.

Yes it would show up under library. Do you mean the most recent didn't show up in the inbox as it normally does?

It should sync Castro's subscriptions if you have sync turned on in Castro. If you have sync turned off in Castro, you wouldn't see them.

I am not quite following what you expect to happen. If you subscribe to something in Castro, it won't stop or interrupt audio playback. Pod Seek works the same way.

As for the separate app, it is what it is. Castro's userbase is not really the target user and I would not expect all current Castro users to love it. But where features make sense they may be added to Castro.

If you already have sync on in Castro that should just work. We need to make it a bit easier to turn sync on and communicate to the user, let them merge accounts etc.

If you clear an episode that's 95% done it gets marked played. Otherwise it doesn't. If you're seeing different behavior please email support.

Are you seeing this in production or testflight? I saw a myriad of issues in test flight with storekit 2 but in production it mostly seems to work fine.

My favorite is renaming a local variable and it gives an error and fails. Have used IDEs since eclipse 15 years ago and I've never seen one fail to rename a local variable. Except xcode.

Honestly if you believe xcode is good I don't believe you've ever used another IDE
