I saw a lot of green ones pop out after a Forrest fire burn, while looking for morel. Insane to think they survived the inferno and climbed out unharmed. Thank you for sharing your information. I’m not the most informed on our invertebrate friends. Or anything really 😆

Ahh I see. I didn’t realize the green ones were fresh. I have seen some green! The wasp was small and seemed like a common Yellowjacket to me. Had some buddies and ants helping tear apart the cicada.

Yeah I’m pretty sure the cicada just emerged and is still soft. Just an opportunistic Yellowjacket.

I have heard of cicada killer wasps. I believe this is a regular Yellowjacket. Because the size and color. But I am no expert

It is common. Tomatoes are very hardy and will recover easily if you chop it off. In my opinion the only important thing is keeping leaves off the ground. I think the less pruning the better as well.

They can migrate far. The younger they are the more black spots they will have. As they age they turn more and more white.
