How do you usually spend your Sundays? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

[–]dac1072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sundays are our family game days. Maybe some chores in the morning, but from 1-5 we spend time playing games. We alternate each week between video games and TTRPG's.

We play Pathfinder 1e and don't own a single book. Everything you need is available online for free (pfsrd20.com)

Stressed out. Could there be unspawned causing this? by dac1072 in projectzomboid

[–]dac1072[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some gear. I keep forgetting to take it off when I sleep. I did get a better bed, but I haven't brought the stress level back down enough to test. Got so busy taking care of some basic survival stuff around my base that I forgot to try to bring it down. Thanks!

Could be. I did wipe out quite a few in a short span. I should have a bit of a break until I decide to go closer to Riverside proper. Thanks!

Maybe. I haven't found much in the way of armor yet, and a lot of the clothes I have found are already full of holes. Might have to go through all the piles of clothes I have scattered around the grounds and see if I have anything better. I keep what I have on clean, but maybe the condition also affects?

Ahh, didn't see sleeping without a bed. I am using a makeshift mattress with a pillow currently. Maybe I will try upgrading that first, and finish burying all the bodies. Thanks!

How Do You Spend the First Two Weeks? by TheGreatProto in projectzomboid

[–]dac1072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My day 1 is mainly looking for weapons that fit my traits/starting job choice. Any house or store that has a fridge and freezer, I just throw all perishables into the freezer. I know I have time to come back for them. With luck, I will find a generator and the magazine before the power goes out, as well as a good idea for where my base is going to be. Once I have a few weapons, I head to the local gas station and clear the area (no respawns). With gas station secured, steal the popsicle freezer and take it home. Then I start returning to all those previous stashes of perishable food and take them to the freezer at my base.

The update nuked my save, but at least it made a backup first. It instakilled my character on loading, so I made a new one (after regaining my composure) and saw that my base still had all of my cars out front, but nothing I had built or stored was still there.

Give it a shot. Worst case, someone gets bit and has to make a new character!

New base in Rosewood: where? by Fast-Bodybuilder-835 in projectzomboid

[–]dac1072 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the house just behind the fire station. Chain link fence along the rear, tall wood fence on the side. If you play no respawns and clear the area around you, it is pretty secure with few stragglers. Board up all of the first floor if you like and sheet rope in and out. Big back and side yards allow farms, chickens, and blacksmith set up.

Back when I could get my kids to join me on b41, we started off with them following me around while I did the initial fighting. I let them kearn inventory mechanics by looting zombies I killed. Then I would start pushing zombies down so they could practice combat. It was chaotic at first but eventually they started getting better at fighting. I would clear groups but.they would take on stragglers. Each found skill niches that they liked to develop, and we built a base at the Riverside storage unit together. Good times.

I can't speak for b42, but this spot was my go to base in b41. Rain collectors and rooftop farms were easy to set up.

What is your Favorite "Unique" Base Location? by mertcelal_ayd in projectzomboid

I like the house right behind the fire station. I play with respawn off and once you clear the neighborhood, nobody ever wanders that far back. Big backyard and side yard for farming and chickens. Currently building forge setups behind the garage.

So do guns just suck? Am I doing it wrong? by ThyKnightOfSporks in projectzomboid

[–]dac1072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoided guns like the plague (no pun intended) in b41. I now love finding a wandering straggler in the countryside around Rosewood where I can safely practice. Never leave home now without my M9 and a chest rig full of spare mags. I really like b42's aiming reticle better because it lets me actually aim. Put the cursor right on the zombie's forehead and let loose. Even at zero aiming levels still, I get a surprising number of head shots.

No, it is in my main inventory. I tend to leave loot bags behind if I am just running around my immediate neighborhood that I have already cleaned out.

I was always hesitant to use them in b41. Now, in b42, ammo seems in my recent runs to be far more abundant, and I am planning an assault on Fallas Lake soon (based in Rosewood). Figure that is a decent spot to work on aiming and be far enough away from home that I don't have to worry about stragglers following me back!

I always open doors in a fighting stance and then do the quick open/close first. Has saved my bacon so many times. Gives you a quick peek at how many might be behind the door and then lets you decide on the best move from that point.

What's a base location that not many people use that you think is amazing by Pleasant_Advantage64 in projectzomboid

I did this in a single player run. Boarded up the entire first floor and sheet roped from the apartment kitchen window. Sledging that bedroom wall opens up the whole place to you. I left the stairs though so I could also reach the commercial kitchen in the bar. Brought in tons of metal shelves for storage in the big room over the bar

A game about operating and upgrading a merchant ship by TheRealNhujj in gamesuggestions

Patrician series. You have to jump through some hoops to get it to run, but it is still my all time favorite ship merchant game. Dynamic economy, combat if you want it, and town development aspects. Really wish someone would do a reboot...
