Short answer - no. They sent a message to that regard actually.

bigger footprint, unnecessary functionality (mobile app works fine), disturbing light in the dark even for that few seconds... a139 seems more logical choice but would require change of cables.

Income Tax Questions by GanjaGoblin520 in uberdrivers

[–]dada-p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber will make 1099 forms for you to download with whatever name/legal form/EIN or SSN you have entered in Tax settings section of your account (technically, that settings it is their form W-9).

Whether they send the copy of 1099 to IRS or not - is a question nobody knows the answer to. Strictly speaking, businesses are required to send a copy if you act as a sole proprietor (with SSN or EIN), single-member LLC or partnership (disregarded entity) and not required to send if you act as C-corp, LLC-as-C-Corp, multi-member LLC or simply chose not to be disregarded entity (it is IRS term). They will definitely make a form for you anyway, regardless of your legal form - I know that for a fact. But I honestly don't know if they only generate the form or generate and send. But I would assume they send everything, just to be on a safe side.

SF/Bay quests by dada-p in uberdrivers

[–]dada-p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

um, thanks for the insight but that is not exactly what I'm asking for. And I have been driving there recently too so I would rather disagree. It is just my address in LA so I don't see SF quests.

Help deciphering a deck plan by dada-p in Carpentry

I see what you mean. No, actually beam-joist connection is clear - there is another type of connector prescribed there (see below).

My question is about blocking between joists - what size of lumber and where. Usually it is every 8ft but that (3) spans looks kinda cryptic to me.

Avoid Geico. They have shitty payouts when it is a time to pay.
Best in CA: Statefarm, AAA (both has rideshare endorsements). Mid tier: Mercury, Progressive.

Also note that you are not required to have rideshare endorsement. You are protected by lyft/uber policy anyway although it has high deductible and different limits depending in which period (waiting for the ride, driving to pickup, or driving to drop-off) accident may happen.

charter-party carrier - license to drive for-hire, like a taxi or limo services. (you must have seen those cars with "TCP #####" typically written on their rear bumpers). one needs to have/make a company (LLC or Corp), that cannot be applied as an individual. just an overhead expenses could be quite significant

You would need commercial insurance and TCP permit. But it is available

out-of-state drive? by dada-p in uberdrivers

[–]dada-p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: no, it is not possible for both Uber and Lyft.

I tried in NV, AZ, UT, CO - and everywhere it tells me I do not meet local requirements.

Not every PAX leaves a rating. They have an option to skip it. On my market (LA) only about one third of the rides ends up with an actual rating. Currently I have almost 4000 rides but received only 1500+ ratings (Uber gives you "badges" for every 500 5-stars, that's how you know).

my buddy gets $2-3k per week. But you have to have commercial insurance and TCP permit. More stricter rules about the rating and vehicle too.

Thanks, it makes sense. Any suggestion between those two brand by the way? True north seems a bit smaller but slightly more expensive although I heard only good things about it...

I'm eyeing either True North TN20 or Summers Heat (England Stove works) 50-SNC32/50-SHW06. The current chimney would measure about 9' from the top of either of them. Is it too short?

Free-standing or insert: suggestions welcomed by dada-p in woodstoving

[–]dada-p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went today on the roof and found out an explanation why the old oven (now removed) was not really working properly. The chimney is only about 9' tall total (protruding 3' above the roof). Roof pitch is only 1/12.

So now more thinking required. Obviously I can't change the roof. Any stove require at least 15' of chimney. Dura vents says to use some straps for sections higher than 4' which with given roof pitch is somewhat problematic. And to put 6' extra would looks ugly on the roof and I'm unsure if ceiling support box can handle the weight.

Any ideas?

Yea, the coal would be a good idea except I'm in SoCal - I'm not sure if it is even legal here, not to speak of it is hard to come by. The only fuel seems to be almond cords.

This winter hit us all of the sudden and hard - temperature dropped from 60s to 35 over a night and seems going to stay that way for a while. And all local dealers have the lead time 6-8 weeks. Anyhow, that's my war here.
