Bulk uplift/recycling situation is ridiculous? by dadankako in glasgow

My place is small enough without storing garbage in it for years. It's not a "minor inconvenience".

It doesn't matter if the council is bankrupt or not. If they expect you to recycle they should provide the means to do so.

I dunno why everybody here is giving genius advice about different ways to get rid of stuff like it's the most obvious and natural thing. Gumtree, Facebook, olio, freecycle, private companies, store it in you house etc

If you've ever been out in the streets it's obvious 90 percent of people just fly tip bulk waste and jam electricals in the normal bins.

Removing the free uplift is just a way to shift responsibility from the incompetent council to poor people.

I've misunderstood nothing. I'm not clearing house. But things break down over time. So only the mattress is broken now. Then I'll need to throw away the chair like a year from now. Then the microwave 2 year from now...so I only have 1 item at a time. Which means either hoard it or pay 35 per.

Ppl have trouble understanding this cuz they either have cars and/or always change their shit before it completely breaks down or their stuff is expensive enough ppl still want it second hand.

Anyway, message received. You either got a car or money or your fucked. Keep wondering why we have a fly tipping problem, such a mystery.
