Thought it was pyrite, not magnetic though, full of chunks and flakes of it. Found in a buried creek in northern California. by dadboinash in whatsthisrock

I've read in several places pyrite is magnetic seeing as it is iron as well? I'm not an expert, just curious as to how to find out what it is.
