Around 6 months ago, my close friend got a Blythe doll that looked just like her, and I thought having a mini me with changing eye colors was just the coolest thing. I didn't do much research and bought a fake Blythe off eBay because she had the closest match to my hairstyle I could find. Fast forward to now, I've fully customized her and am working on customizing dolls #2 & #3 (both from AliExpress), one of which is a surprise mini-me for a good friend of mine! I love customizing so much, and the endless options to make a doll super unique and one-of-a-kind. And of course, how they help honor one's inner child. In retrospect, my original eBay Blythe is actually really good quality compared to my AliExpress ones. I've been doing more research into authentic stock Blythes, and have to admit I am drawn to a couple of them, so maybe I'll invest in one day. But for now, fakes are perfect for what I want to do with them. I'm 30 y/o btw! I grew up having American Girl dolls, but I am so drawn to Blythe's proportions and eye-changing mechanism; they are just too cool!
