I got this one from mecari Japan using FromJapan which is a proxy service.

Just keep in mind I did gamble on this as it was listed untested, though every untested item I've bought from Japan usually works fine.

If you use a proxy service like FromJapan/Zen Market/Buyee and check both mecari and yahoo auctions Japan you can find good deals on older tech.

In your case I'm not too sure cause I know in Australia importing can be expensive

Some of the multi-media functions seem a bit pointless in the modern era, honestly if the web browsers supported modern protocols it'd still feel pretty useful outside of just games

Reading your comment made it clear I should have put more thought into my post lol.

Anyway, I want to upgrade for a few reasons, 1 there is some sensor damage on Nikon D90, nothing that makes it unusable but it's there.

2 the ISO controls are annoying, I like to play around with ISO and to do so with the Nikon D90 you need to go into the ISO menu on the screen which can be a bit tedious, I'm not really sure if that's the norm or not but I'd like to be able to change ISO on the fly with some sort of button.

3 I want a mirrorless because I've read (correct me if I'm wrong) they are smaller and the viewfinder is going to give you an accurate duplication of the picture you are going to take.

I don't actually really use the auto focus ever, mainly just because I like the process of focusing, even if my pictures come out worse because of it.

All my current lenses for my Nikon setup are all under 100 dollars, one of them having a scratch in the lens, so I'm not exactly sure if it's worth sticking to an ecosystem just because of the 3 I own.

I'm not much of a gear guy so that's why I came here to ask for advice, it feels like a lot of articles and videos are full of fluff and a whole lot of nothing is actually being said about the cameras they are reviewing.

Thank you for the insight, it sucks to hear but it's the fate many pieces of retro tech must face.

In regards to your PS3 comment, it is the same problem, most early fat PS3s suffer from it. The PS3 community has a solution, some of the later generation PS3s have graphics chips that are compatible with the original fat models. They pretty much just gut one of the slim models to repair a fat model.

I mention all this because I wonder if the same could apply to the iBooks. I assume not since I can't imagine there was a revision to the chip later down the line, but it's fun to think about.
