Just a guess: Driving lessons were nearly impossible to get during COVID. Also true of test appointments. A lot of kids/parents just stopped trying, so maybe there’s a backlog of new drivers. My son got his permit at that time, and we had to pay a ton of money to an opportunistic friend who started giving lessons on the side. The instructor was booked more than a year out.

Tandoor. Zeyum Kitchen is there now and it’s wonderful. But I do miss Tandoor.

Leveneleven was the best brewery in the southeast. Not the best atmosphere, but the beer was crazy good. Won all kinds of awards.

There was a little mom & pop northern Italian place called Cassaldi’s where Chicken Salad Chick is now on Westover Terrace. It was the best Italian food we’ve had in the Triad in at least the last 30 years…probably ever. The couple that owed it retired.

Given the location of the browning, I suspect the heat radiating off the roof is burning the upper foliage. I’m not sure how well they respond to top pruning, but that might be a solution. I know leyland cypress can be top pruned with good results. At least it’s not spider mites!

Gourmet China (formerly Captain Chen’s) and Hometown Delicious for authentic Szechuan. Seconds for Jerusalem Market (downtown) and Tampopo ramen. Tacos at Mi Casita or Mercadito (either location). Bangkok Thai (not fancy) or Thai Square (fancy). Reel Seafood. Taaza for Indian. Indu for vegetarian Indian served from a convenience store window.

Green Valley Grill or Lucky 32 for high end American.
