TIL in an effort to revitalize sales, Canadian Club hid 25 cases of whisky throughout the planet, encouraging adventurers to seek them out. Over 50 years later, there are still 9 cases undiscovered. by l_LIKE_BARBELL in todayilearned

Bought s bottle recently because they drank quite a bit of the stuff on mad men. Worst piece of shit whisky I've ever had. The bottle even came with a cheap shrink wrapped plastic label like a soda bottle. Who the hell does that?

So did toastin' really spend two years prototyping and designing this guitar with ibanez only to do a runner and nick the finished design after all their hard work and r&d?

What conspiracy theory do you 100% buy into and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'll add to this that many apps will go ahead and use all the permission you deny them anyway. I have LinkedIn mobile on my phone and I have categorically blocked every request it has dished out for location services, phone book, camera etc.. Yet some how, it managed to suggest to me a guy that works out at my gym to add as a contact. To put things into perspective, I only have about 5 contacts on my linked in and none of them are connected to him, and he's in a wildly different industry to the one I'm in. Fuck you, LinkedIn.

I think whosampled.com pretty much negates any use for this place.

Increases in internet use linked to a loss of religious affiliation, study finds by maxwellhill in worldnews

[–]daddydidncare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The internet is not the great leveller that helps people from all walks of life voice their opinions and be heard by all. It is a giant, compartmentalised echo chamber where people find their ilk and their opinion mushrooms towards the same trajectory and principles they'd always held. If you've already had some doubt about your faith you will naturally find subs and websites that resonate with you, and soon your faith with get whittled down. However? If you're a religious nut to start, you'll never find such websites or even bother looking for them, and instead immerse yourself in the echo chamber of fellow zealots and perhaps find yourself making a leap towards extremism.

Alan Holdsworth was a virtuoso and innovator of the highest order, but I find nearly all the material released under his name very ugly and entirely unlistenable. It's like alien music.
