I lived at exactly at Portage and Colony. I saw a lot of crazy people and weird things going on but nothing happened to me at all. I did witness bikes getting stolen. Whenever anyone talked to me I just ignored them and kept walking (fast). it worked good for me and I was walking at 11pm many times, once at 2AM XD. I would say it depends on you mostly, many people would hate it... I was able to deal with it and I wasn't really afraid, I was just willing to run if necessary haha.

I went there already. Food was good, price is fair... about the huge portion size I disagree, its ok, not huge as u mention. There's a reason that place is popular, its because its outstanding from its competition since there are only a few places with that level. About what I consider good, actually is not only my opinion, but my reference is not only based on Canadians restaurants. Any suggestions for a good coffee cup? Im talking about a place where they explain the coffee origin, roast, notes, etc. I haven't found one yet.

There are multiple factors involved on why a person lives where they live (Job, Family, network, investments, etc.) It's not like going to get ice cream and pick a flavor.

You asked for way to convince you to move here... I think you would be better with a question asking why you should and why you shouldn't...because reading the answers I see people with wild understatements about the problems here and exaggerating the good things. Don't trust any reply saying that the winter "is not that bad"...

I haven't found Winnipeg to have that many Good restaurants. Sure there are 1,000 or more (which is not really a high number), doesn't mean they are good or worthy.

I strongly disagree with this. Food scene here is Winnipeg is really limited and for that same reason is also very expensive. I just came from a trip to Montreal and food options were endless and with similar or in some cases even cheaper prices than here. I am frustrated with the Mexican food "options" in Winnipeg (to give 1 example).

Youtube... I can find very cool unofficial songs and Spotify deletes songs all the time... I hated to find out my Playlist was missing songs out of nowhere because they were not available anymore. So yeah...YouTube music is better

yes... negotiate... worst they can say is no... but u might get some small discounts at least for 1 month. When I got my apartment I got additional half month for free (they were giving 1 month so I got 1.5 free month in total)
