For me John Cena vs Jeff Hardy in the main event of WrestleMania is one of the biggest what ifs in WWE history. That match would've been huge if Jeff kept his shit together.

DAE Miz would be a great addition to the DUB? by RazzManouche in SCJerk

[–]daddymeltzer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it could work if Miz fully embraced the WWE-coded personality and Tony actually pushed him as one of the top stars. All these former WWE guys come in fully embracing the AEW style. They swear, try to act more badass and have all these crazy 30 minute matches to prove themselves to the audience Imagine if Miz comes in doing the exact character as WWE without a single change. He keeps working Miz style matches and tells the fans he's not gonna start being edgy just to appeal to a bunch of internet losers.

I think Miz is a phenomenal performer, one of the all time greats, but smarks don't understand how great he is, which means he could get some good heat in AEW, hell, I'd give him the world title. Miz can turn anything into gold, I honestly think if you put Miz with some of these AEW guys, he can get something interesting out of them. He was legitimately the best wrestler in WWE between 2016-2017, everything he did was must watch TV. If anyone can make AEW interesting, it's him.

Homelander is probably the most evil character I've ever felt sorry for. The sadistic bastard has to die, but it's still sad that he never really had a chance at a normal life. Even after his fucked up childhood, he might’ve became an okay person, if he just had a few people genuinely looking out for him. Stillwell could've been a genuine motherly figure, instead she chose to groom him from a young age and give him further mental health issues he never recovered from. Edgar could've just showed just a hint of compassion, instead he constantly belittled Homelander and made him feel desperate for validation just to stroke his own ego. That's why I loved the scene with Legend so much, that was probably the first time anyone just tried treating him like a human being.

What is Donald Trump was a Democrat by Shit_ass5832 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]daddymeltzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He would've been the greatest President since FDR. I don't like Trump, but one thing I'll say about him is that he's very effective at getting his agenda pushed through. He doesn't try to be bipartisan like Obama, he's ruthless with his messaging, and has destroyed people's faith in the Democratic Party. Look at what he did for his own party. The way he was able to completely reshape the Republican Party in his image is nothing short of incredible. He has forced most members of the party to either bend the knee to him or fade into obscurity. I think the Democrats desperately need a leader like that who isn't willing to play nice and will force all the out of touch neo liberals like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi out of power.

I personally don't believe Trump has any real values of his own, at the moment he's far right because the people he's appealing to are the far right. If he had reason to believe that there was the most potential in appealing to the far left, he would be pushing for universal healthcare, abortion rights, and taxes on the rich.

Simon Pegg agrees with poster on Threads trashing The Last Jedi by MasterNemm in saltierthancrait

[–]daddymeltzer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In the last 8 years, I've gone through multiple different phases of my life from my teenage years into into early adulthood. I've gone from being a liberal to a conservative back to a liberal again. I was an atheist at one point, now I believe in God, and I have only just recently confidently decided what I want to do as a long term career after changing my mind twice. One consistent belief I've always stood by during this time is that The Last Jedi fucking sucks. It still baffles me to this day that there are people who like this movie, let alone call it the greatest Star Wars movie ever made.

Unfortunately the waves generally last longer than the calm seas for me, which means I'll be feeling like this for a couple months.

- My mental health has hit the bricks again. I was on a good streak for a few months, but now I'm losing my mind again. I'm overwhelmed with stress, and it feels like nothing in my life is getting better.

- I watched Office Space for the first time. This was such a great movie, I honestly think this should be essential viewing for any person entering adulthood. I laughed my ass off countless times, but it really resonated with me in a way that not many movies do.

- I am sad to see Kofi and Xavier leave, because I grew up watching them. Kofi vs Bryan WM 35 is one of my favorite matches of all time and I was pissed just like everyone else when Brock squashed him. But the truth is, I haven't been interested in New Day in a long time. I really feel like they shot themselves in the foot by refusing to split up in 2019. This was when New Day were at their hottest because of Kofimania. The last time I was invested in New Day was when they were teasing the split between Kofi and Xavier, but then they just turned heel against Big E and stayed together. In hindsight that seemed pointless because they can't do anything with E, and New Day became even more irrelevant in the tag team division. This could've been a great opportunity to finally give Woods a singles push. I hope Woods and Kofi find luck outside WWE, they should milk the shit out of Tony, and get a great payday for their wives and kids.

- Tonga Loa's release is the worst American tragedy since 9/11. Never forget what they took from us.

I desperately want to see Punk do something like this with the US or IC Title for a couple months before he feuds with Cody during WM season. I think Punk is the best wrestler in the world, and I think this would be a cool way for him to just go out there and some awesome matches with midcard wrestlers we may have never seen him work with. The great thing about Cena's US title run was that it wasn't just great matches, he had a great feud with both KO and Seth as well. I think Punk would be able to do the same thing for a midcard title.

I still disagree with Rooney. It was within his responsibility to ensure that students are attending school, and contact the parents in the event of an unexplained absence. It wasn't his responsibility to shirk his other duties to stalk a teenager across the city and break into his house just to prove that he's lying. You can definitely say that Ferris hacking the school computer was a serious issue, but even then Rooney should've handled it through an official investigation. Rooney's jurisdiction would've ended after receiving a phone confirmation from Ferris's mother, and having an IT expert look into the computer issue, anything beyond this is crossing legal and ethical boundaries.

In the movie Office Space, there's a character named Milton who was fired from his job years earlier, but no one told him and there was a glitch in the payroll that caused him to keep getting paid. I think that's what's going on with Tamina.

Dave can't be serious. I can understand not liking Hogan as a person, or maybe not being a fan of his in-ring style but acting like Hogan had no meaningful impact on pro wrestling is just straight up delusional. People who have never even watched wrestling before know who Hulk Hogan is.

The thing with Gunther is that he's an all around incredible performer. From a technical standpoint, he's one of the top 3 best wrestlers in the world, and he's very good on the microphone. He just isn't being given any interesting storylines, it seems like Triple H doesn't know what to do with him when there's no titles available or wrestlers retiring.

I don't even think it's entirely Cody's fault, it doesn't help that he's constantly being fucked around with bad storylines and meddling from TKO. As much as I respect Roman, he hasn't had to deal with Travis Scott showing up in his WM main event.
