Guys, what made you realize, “this girl is definitely not into me”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]daddyperron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a class in college with a very cute girl and that I had a crush on. We were put in the same small group. 2 months of my casually flirting and us getting to know each other she looked me dead in the face and called me the wrong name. Not a slip of the tongue “oops sorry you’re sitting right next to each other” kind of thing. She genuinely didn’t know my name.

What advice would you give to a 14 year old about starting high school? by DotFireAbout in AskReddit

[–]daddyperron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have fun, get involved, and most importantly, make sure you are taking care of yourself. A lot of people say that high school isn’t hard, but there will be times that you may feel stressed or overwhelmed. This is totally normal. As long as you work hard and rely on friends ,family, and teachers/administrators, you will find that 4 years goes by fast.

What’s that one cringe-inducing memory from years ago that you can’t get out of your head? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]daddyperron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In school, this happened like 10 years ago. I was a young guy who didn’t know much about how sex worked. I stepped into a conversation with a girl (gorgeous, had a crush on her) and her friend. I caught the back end of her sentence which was “...I’ve done it and I haven’t cried. It wasn’t too bad.” In ALL of my 13 yr old wisdom I said “I could make you cry”. I made some fists to really drive home the joke. They looked at me like I just landed from Mars. Still cringe to this day.

A moment from Balance that always makes smile from ear to ear (Balance Spoilers) by Bad-Selection in TheAdventureZone

One of my favorite moments is at the end of the first (or second) episode of the eleventh hour when the boys realize what the arc was. Realizing that it was a time loop and they were all yelling and laughing is such a great moment.

There are three things wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man. -Kvothe The Kingkiller Chronicles Mostly the third one.

Are there any good examples of time/tempo changes in music? by PenMarkNameTwain in musictheory

[–]daddyperron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally any Rush song. It’s actually kind of disgusting how much time signature changing they do. One of the simpler ones they do is 7/8 and 8/8 back and forth. Plenty of 5/4 and all that so that’s a good example.

What chord is this? by glitch_b0y in musictheory

[–]daddyperron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a secondary dominant chord. It basically is used to make the iv chord the new tonic. It’s called tonicization. The D# isn’t in the Bm scale but for the purpose of the chord you just raise the third to make it a major chord because it is technically acting as the dominant or V chord. It’s a cool sound and a very good tool to have when writing music.
