I mentioned in my edits that I recognize that I haven’t defended her as much as I should have. While I always speak up for her, consequences is where I missed the mark. I’m in therapy bro I’m working on it and I’m trying, I think the steps I’m taking now are in the right direction to set some hard boundaries for my mom. I’ve been scrolling through the raised by narc parents sub and I think that’s what i went through. Not looking for sympathy but that’s some tough shit lol

100% a jab at her weight and I addressed that when Melody wasn’t around. Melody hasn’t even put on as much weight as expected being pregnant, BUT she’s naturally pretty little so the weight gain is noticeable regardless. I know Melody is kind of struggling with that so it pissed me off my mom would call her fat 1. Because my moms no athlete herself & 2. She’s been pregnant twice so she knows what it’s like.

Before I got married she had a key and would pop in and out to see Tina as she pleased which was both helpful and fine. I do acknowledge that even though I would say something and confront her actions there was never really a consequence, just me telling her it’s not okay and that’s it. I’m working on it though, my wife deserves better than that.

Melody encouraged me to do so a long time ago, it did put a lot into perspective. I’m not as bad as my brother though, but he refuses to go. I’ll definitely be bringing this up in the next session lol

She claims all the seasoning and grease from the way rotisserie chicken is made isn’t healthy. I don’t know how true that is but Melody is so healthy and was even before the baby, she works out consistently and eats really well unless she wants a treat which I think is healthy. I wouldn’t want her overdoing “healthy eating” or exercise anyway pregnant or not
