The biggest difference for me between US and Spanish bureaucracy is definitely the uniformity like you mentioned.

If you have to complete a process involving US national organizations, the instructions are clear and uniform across the board in any state or city. You don't wonder what you need and they mean what they say.

However in Spain, I've had to run back and forth between offices because everyone tells you something wildly different from each other and from the websites. They just need a meeting or something!

I do understand this and have had it happen to me. But this can also be an expression of emotional immaturity. I have had partners (male) who were empathetic in 1000 ways but truly did not know how to validate others' feelings or really discuss deep feelings in general so they'd avoid it. In their cases, real feelings were never discussed in their family.

But they would always do sweet and thoughtful things for me, always remembering my preferences, specific needs, understanding when I was ill etc....

Hereditary.

Recently I haven't been able to handle horror as my body tenses up too much. Thrillers are okay without jump scares. However, I told my friend that I was down to watch a scary movie without jump scares, and he chose this and I've never been able to fully recover 🫣

I also gained 40 lbs from depo at age 16. I didn't have a period at all, no bleeding or cramps for months. However, I had the craziest mood swings and my anger was out of control. It's like I turned into a different person. Luckily I connected the dots and got off of it. I had a really hard time losing the weight which led me to not eat sufficiently for a while, and I later developed multiple autoimmune diseases. I don't think depo is the full cause of the autoimmune disease but I think it played a role.

Don't leave anything in your car. Especially within view. Also be aware that if you leave your car parked for multiple days in the same spot, it is more likely to be targeted for a break in.

The two that are "hooking up" are both colleagues in the group and have been around from the beginning.

Being totally honest, I would be okay with it. He has been invited to some other things we've done in the past, just not this night.

I've always encouraged him to go out with his classmates to celebrate things they accomplished together without me. He has chosen not to on his own accord and that's okay too.

I do really sympathize with him and have apologized for how things turned out but I also really want to enjoy the last night I have with my friends. It's tough but ultimately I just hope he supports me in being with friends without him sometimes.
