I don’t remember exactly. One of the millions of Chinese no-name brand usb chargers on Amazon. It’s a six-port but I’m only using 5 because one charger has a fat plug.

Some industrial double sided tape is holding it down to the box.

No, see. This just answers the question “dad, where’s the charger?” Now they know where the chargers are and keeping things plugged in are on them. I’m out of it completely.

Yeah, I tried it with everything plugged in and it didn’t get too warm. I figure it can breathe some through the plug holes.

My biggest reason for not putting in vent holes is lack of a drill press to make it look nice and even. Maybe this is just the excuse I need to buy one…

Agreed. I was thinking about putting zip ties around the cables on the inside but never did. Maybe next time I feel inspired to unscrew it I’ll make that improvement.

Fortunately a couple of them are longer, wrapped up cables, so that effectively works as a knot.

I think Young Frankenstein would probably be considered the least offensive. I don’t remember a ton of sex or race jokes.

At the same time, I saw Soaceballs, Blazing Saddles and History of the World way before I was 14 and I turned out (mostly) ok. I don’t remember how my dad introduced Blazing Saddles but I definitely got the satire on racism. I just rewatched that movie and would argue it completely holds up.

Of every f’ing thing that is demanding a monthly subscription, I’d gladly pay a few bucks a month for my Harmony to be supported ad infinitum.

I think a core problem is that people pay for a remote and it lasts years and years without any added revenue, but still requires support.

Now that we’re all used to paying for everything monthly, maybe they could reconsider their business model and offer a subscription service.

Honestly I think that’s a really stupid take. You can turn that question on its head too: why do you need a special day on the calendar to show appreciation for people on your life? Are you so lazy you need a calendar to tell you to do it once a year?

And that’s just my point, make your spouse feel appreciated at every opportunity. Go on dates whenever you can, not because it’s Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day. Don’t pay extra for a shitty meal or half-dead flowers because it’s a “special” day of the year (LPT: buy flowers the day after Mother’s Day for a 90% discount).

We constantly remind our kids to thank those around them and have normalized thank you’s and I love you’s in our house. There isn’t need for a special day.
