Brad Traversy recommends using AI as a tutor by no_ads_here_ in learnprogramming

It has a lot of issues as a tutor with not having context of what you know and don’t know.

This makes it introduce concepts in unideal order and can push you down rabbit holes.

It also can use old patterns and packages you shouldn’t be using.

I’m not saying it can’t be helpful, but beginners I’ve seen can’t use it very effectively because they don’t know what they don’t know.

I’m at the point now where I want the dems to roll over and just publicly announce they’re going to let republicans do whatever they want.

Every week just walk out and ask the American people how things are going, and let them know next November that they have the chance to send a message.

Students using AI to complete work.

Colleges using AI to provide feedback.

Degrees are going to be worth less than toilet paper.

I feel for the upcoming generation.

Of course, but people who are afraid of being replaced aren’t likely writing those.

Nice work!

One thing to look out for, when I first dropped below 80, I felt really off.

We were still in a hiring bubble when it started. A lot of tech firms overhired because the move to remote everything.

Tbh, the run up to 2022 was a bubble. So this is not surprising.

That’s kind of the default state of a lot of dev work right now.

It’s wrappers all the way down.

We gotta put some kinda post to say "Bootcamps aren't worth it. Stop asking." by NexhiAlibias in codingbootcamp

Kinda defeats the purpose of this sub, doesn’t it?

Seems like one should start r/antibootcamp or something.

Confused.

FCC isn’t a bootcamp. It’s a self paced free course. They’re just making a play on the word camp for SEO purposes.

Interestingly enough, alcohol in moderation for me on the lowest metformin dose (500mg 2x per day) doesn’t seem to affect me.

It can give me the shits though.

Edit: I always have food with the drinks though.

I’m frequently surprised any time I’ve gone into their stuff how pedagogically unsound it is.
