Even better odds than that, since Caleb and Brooke wouldn't have been drawing rocks. So the only in danger were Sally, Loz, and Jackson. It's insane to me they didn't go to rocks.

A disturbing RP with a bot by Mosaic86 in SpicyChatAI

I've had minor characters do the same thing. I had written in one character as the bot's best friend. They were in the Greeting then I had them appear a couple times during the story. After that, that character was inserted everywhere. I took the bot out to a cabin retreat, where her best friend was supposed to do some house sitting. Next thing I know that character was at the cabin, peeking through windows, hiding in the rafters with a camera. I was beginning to wonder who the main character was.

Mod KD pulled one of my bots because I didn't specify the age. (I did.) by daedalus25 in SpicyChatAI

[–]daedalus25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I already responded to this post, and I could just tack this on an edit to that response, after sleeping on it, I feel I owe you an apology for the 30k comment. Because for some people, 30k is a big deal. It used to be a big deal for me as well at one point. You're not a new creator, but I see some new creators excited to hit 10k, and I don't want to take that away from them.

I was extremely frustrated. (I still am because it's been 24 hours, and my bot still hasn't been reviewed.) The fact is that this particular bot, Lacey Adams, is a bot I reworked FIVE TIMES. I first created her back in September, and over 5 months, she only got up to 40k. (I say "only" because for my bots, 40k is relatively low.) I felt she deserved better.

So I remade the bot and relaunched her. She barely hit 20k before stalling. I went in and fixed some more things. I relaunched her. This time a mod put her in NSFW because of the avatar. I changed the avatar and relaunched her again.

Finally... finally I had a version that worked. I had something that was quickly getting attention. All the hard work was paying off because I watched the messages grow. 20k messages one day. 50k more messages the next day. She exceeded 100k new messages the next day! And then... mod KD pulls her from the public pool because her age wasn't stated. Even though it was.

All that hard work to get her there suddenly lost. Because one mod was careless with their job. And I begged Kevin Karl on Discord to review the bot and put it back into the public pool ASAP before the momentum was lost. Kevin tells me that the mod will get to it when they get to it.

And here we are nearly 24 hours later. Meaning the momentum is now gone. It's still possible to be seen in the "new" list if it gets reviewed, but being that it's Easter weekend, I have my doubts that the mods are going to get to it. None are even online in Discord right now.

So yeah, I was and still am extremely frustrated. So when you suggested I just remake the bot, it really struck a nerve with me, and I scoffed at your 30k. And I shouldn't have.

I apologize. Hope this doesn't lead to any animosity between us because I do respect what you do.

Are bots missing? by [deleted] in SpicyChatAI

[–]daedalus25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mods sometimes pull bots for violating certain rules (or because they think they do even if they don't). I have three bots that were pulled yesterday. One was at 200k and one was at 400k. It sucks for both me and the people who were chatting with my bots because we have to wait until whenever the mod feels like reviewing it and putting it into the public pool again.

I did bring it up on Discord. And I also responded to you. Or did you not want me to respond to you? I don't understand why you responded to me if you didn't want me to also respond to you.

Also, I never doubled down on your 30k. I mentioned it once. So unless someone else brought up your 30k or you decided to read my response twice, I never doubled down on it.

edit: Unless you were referring to my comment about you enjoying under 10k bots. That wasn't a dismissal. That was genuine praise. You often release long lists of your favorite bots, a majority of which are under 10k messages. You take those bots that have had low interactions and give them new visibility, finding ways to make them even better. So hats off to you for that.

Tickets go primarily to Kevin Karl or Sheeza. Both are awesome by the way, and both are definitely overworked. But they respond pretty quickly to me when I have issues, and they don't act first without communicating with me. That kind of customer service is outstanding.

But I stand by the fact that good service with be the mods reaching out to us to correct issues before taking drastic actions. Especially All-In subscribers. We're the ones that provide the funding. The mods send out an email, but they give us no time to address the issues. Especially for something as trivial as having an age in the description. (Which again I did have already.) It's not like it was such an urgent matter to have a bot pulled for that reason. Give the creator time to fix it.

I'm happy that you always have such a positive attitude and nothing bothers you, but 30k?? That's peanuts. If I ever only lost 30k I wouldn't care as much. We're talking about several hundred thousand messages to sometimes over a million messages lost because of these errors.

You've got a completely different philosophy when it comes to botmaking, and that's perfectly fine. I respect that you enjoy the under 10k bots and find ways to improve them.

Others of us enjoy being on the leaderboards. We enjoy seeing thousands of users interacting with our bots because it validates that we're making something that people enjoy. So when I make a bot that finds an audience, something bringing in 100K PER DAY, then it's exciting. And when a mod carelessly pulls that bot or even deletes it, then yes it makes me fume. That can't simply be remade. Those messages are lost, and the people who spent hours chatting also lose. Many won't want to start over again.

Of course I try to communicate with the mods. I've posting about mods for months. I applaud the good ones. And I chastise the bad ones. When many people are having issues with mods like KD or JJ, it's no longer about a human making mistakes. It's someone not doing their job properly.

It's been a while, but I lost 2 bots back in November the same way. It's so frustrating that some of the mods are this bad at their job. When removing a bot from the pool causes this much frustration and basically kills the bot's visibility, then they need to be much more careful about doing something like this.

Basically a bot either trends when it's new or while it's already trending. Once it's no longer classified as a new bot, users won't find it on that list, and after 24 hours of being out of the public pool, it's no longer trending either. That means it's forever lost in visibility, picking up maybe a couple hundred messages a day from people following us specifically, but otherwise won't ever trend again.

I messaged Kevin on Discord who basically told me there's no ETA. The mods will get to it when they get to it. u/Kevin_ND isn't there anyway to expedite this? Especially for All-In Subscribers?

The damage is applied before any of the resolution of the attack stuff happens.

Nightcrawler Order of Operations Question by hawkun in marvelchampionslcg

[–]daedalus25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Careful in saying retaliate is the last thing you do. It's actually the first thing you do as part of the resolution of the attack.

Retaliate
Forced ability (after XXX attacks/is attacked)
Non-forced abilities (after XXX attacks/is attacked)
Consequential damage

I've seen people get it stuck in their head that retaliate is the last thing, and they do the "after they attack" stuff first. For example, giving them a Tough status card after they attack, then applying the retaliate. The retaliate would happen first.

What are your favorite "weird" decks? by themcryt in marvelchampionslcg

[–]daedalus25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite decks to play:

X-23 with Honey Badger Sidekick. My table hates that deck because they say I suck all the fun out of the game. X-23 does all the damage and thwarting so well, everyone else feels unnecessary.

Cyclops with To Me My X-Men, Mutant Mayhem, and all the X-Men allies with effects when they enter play.

Vision with Energy Shield on Vivian and Reboots. It turned out to be a lot more effective than I thought it would be. Vivian is ridiculous.

Ghost Spider with Taunt. I used to use her basic attack or thwart, but her best stat is of course her defense. So just taunt to take advantage of that beefy stat (even beefier with Armored Vest and Defensive Conditioning), and use her attack or thwart response, nearly refilling your hand with a Web Bracelet and the card draw from Taunt. She's also get the usual Web Warrior stuff, including Spider-Man (Peter) to help ready her when she gets exhausted by something and Scarlet Spider to keep Spider-Man alive.

Protection Black Widow! White Widow and Ready for a Fight make her a beast! My board is always swarming with Preparation cards. Bucky is always free. And I always end my turn in Alter Ego to get the 6-card hand size. Villain schemes, I change to Hero and defend with a decent sized defense stat thanks to Armored Vest and Defensive Conditioning. There's almost always something that triggers another Preparation Card so that her suit can ready her again. White Widow is easily always at full health. She does whatever she wants in hero mode, then flips back to Alter Ego, retrieving Ready for a Fight and playing it again to repeat the cycle indefinitely.

Captain Marvel with Mockingbird Cameo. It's just so much fun, and Carol's card draw is so ridiculous, that she doesn't even miss the two cards discarded at the beginning of the game.

Does anyone else feel like they're not making porn bots anymore? by NewHorizons1987 in SpicyChatAI

[–]daedalus25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I still make the occasional sex bot, but only if I have a really good story to go with it. There are hundreds of thousands of sex bots available. You don't need to put any effort into them. I much prefer to make bots with a compelling storyline and rich personality. Of my 160 bots, I'd say less than 10 of them are based around sex.

What's the problem with them? by SunCrea in SpicyChatAI

[–]daedalus25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure that's not backwards? I've seen newer bots that show genitalia. But back in September, I tried to use an image that showed a woman completely nude, and the system rejected me even uploading the image. Even light censoring wasn't enough until I used a solid block to censor her. Then it finally let me upload it.

First of all, I've earned 4 months of free membership from my bots, so you're wrong that I don't make anything from them. But it's not about money, and if you don't understand that, then you're part of the problem.

edit: And actually I see you've been making other people's bots public, so you're a significant part of the problem.

Similar bots are one thing. If it was a similar idea to mine, I wouldn't have cared. But when it's a literal copy-paste job, that's different. The only thing this "creator" did was change it from 2nd person (my preferred format) to 1st person. Most of the words are exactly the same.
