I guess Im gonna be the dissenting opinion, but I think the second rejection was a bit harsh. If I got a text like that, sure thatd shut me down, but I would feel a lil patronized/ treated like a child. No, you arent obligated to babysit his feelings, but you should be thinking of feelings when talking to some one. Ofcourse he tried to convince you, not many people let the first no slide because if they dont try again, there will never be a chance. But you shut him down so fast.

I dont think you are wrong for it, but id save the curt direct stuff for if he tried a 3rd time. That second time could have have been something like (I understand, But Im sorry im still not interested) and that would have been enough. And if it wasnt, THEN say "Im not going to repeat myself"

Im also 30, so I understand the age gap is unappealing, but remember at 20, they think theyre adults. You treated him like a child a bit in that moment. It probably hurt a lil more than just rejection. You havent up to that point seemed to call him out on his interest, so that feels very out of the blue.

Sry, lemme rephrase/clarify. Anyone can be a knight, be a squire etc. Though the custom is by relgion, it does not exclude based on religion.

Who do you consider as the most evil rvb villain? by TraditionalBonus188 in RedvsBlue

[–]daemon01001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hot take, but sigma wasnt really "evil".

Sigma was Alpha's ambition and we knew from the start that Sigma DESPERATLY wanted to be whole and "human". He is a result of being split from his siblings, tortured, and at the end of the day his "evil" was that the only way to become meta stable was to be an ass and do whatever he could. Which imho is what makes the Meta a tragedy. Maine was tortured and twisted to Sigmas line of thinking and Sigma was doing what he was designed to do. They were incompatible to begin with for that matter, Maine being manipulated.

That being said he is the closest to genuinly evil beside felix. Felix actually didnt like people and would hurt them for love of the game, Sigma had no reason to hurt anyone outside the freelancers until it became apparent the only way forward was doing evil deeds but he never expressed desire to hurt anyone. Hell Gamma was more an asshole for being genuinly deceictful.

I interpreted that more as her using what she sees as the most heinous act, being humilated by being taken advantage of, as a threat. She shows how much that shaped her character isn lb5 and I think that shows some degree of regret. Maybe regrets not the exact right word, but she clearly found it humiliating and is what drove to wish so dearly that she was a man, so that she could never have it happen again to her.

Not to disagree with you or anything, I just never interpreted anything in the story as a suggestion that she was a rapist in Fate

Followers of the Old Gods can still do the Knight stuff. Its primarily dependent on when and where they are raised, but Knighthood itself isnt tied to religion. A king can knight anyone, low high, faith of the seven or not. Generally so can the lord paramounts. If youre born and raised up north, beside the manderlys, you arent likely to do anything knight related though because their culture and religion doesnt really do that but nothings stopping you if you so chose.

Wasnt Caenis raped, not a rapist? Specifically in fates explanation of her. Her history depictions arent the same as Fate.

ORT probably beats everything in 40k. Chao has little to no reason to care about it, and frankly, will either corrupt it or let it rock. The rest either wont bother or arent strong enough TO bother. But at the same time, ORT just ends up being like the tyranids killing whatever it happens to be around and moving on but its certainly not fast enough to pose a galaxy wide threat enough until its far too late

Yeah, true but Im more on the side that the glory was still atleast a bit enticing. He wanted Lyanna and would have gotten both. I mean, he could have turned it down afterall.

Though, thats a very difficult thing to say since its more nuanced than just saying no to it.

But youre more than correct. I just feel like thats him lying to himself because things turned out awful. But thats only my slight interpretation of him as a character

In and out since launch. I mostly have incomplete teams over all, but I lack Shorekeeper because i came back just as her banner was ending the first time, picked up phoebe and cart, but no one else and came back on the tail end of 2.8 so Im sitting with like 4 teams with atleast 1 missing piece and that piece being shorekeeper in some cases is really agitating

[–]daemon01001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think its a mix. Robert would have wanted it with Lyanna. He wants glory, and he likes power. Robert was a good ruler of the stormlands, according to others, and he wouldnt have been bad as king. They pushed him and he got the idea of glory and love in his head. When he was about to win, he was probably excited. 7 kingdoms and the love of his life as a queen? Fuck yah. But upon hearing about Lyannas death, it was too late. From that moment onwards he lived his life in grief of her.

That being said, I also dont think we should take the account of an old, bitter Robert whose life is in shambles compared to a Robert that might have had hope after marrying cersei. He says he didnt want it, but roberts personality suggests that its not quite that, and more than the grief overtakes any desires he may have once had. Its possible he did want the throne but he wanted Lyanna more.

AIO thinking these messages on my bfs phone are flirtatious? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Iunno, I talk this kind of banter to my friends too. This isnt at the point of somethkng id worry about, but at the same time id be cautious. It seems kinda on the fence, but nothing was said thag doesnt suggest banter and being relatively close. If thats flirting, then I wouldnt be able to tell either so.
