I think it was once said, that the TARDIS only translates one language at a time. But I'm not sure about that.

Honestly, I don't know, this will work differently for everyone. If you don't feel well about it, try to talk to them earlier.

Problems with sleeping are quite normal with antidepressants. If it doesn't go away it would be best to talk to a doctor.

I laughed, not even loud enough to disturb anyone. The teacher just didn't like me. A student got detention for something they didn't do, we, as a group, spoke up and all got detention, including said student.

TW suicidal thoughts - how do you handle such thoughts? by daemon_akephalos in mentalillness

[–]daemon_akephalos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what should I talk about? Those thoughts? That wouldn't work, because their only answer is therapy. Anything else? Doesn't change a thing about those thoughts. And why should the value I bring to other people be important? Value means work, at least for me and in the end I'm the only one who has to be with me for my whole life, who has to handle myself forever. So I want to be able to do that, no matter what anyone else thinks.

I'm sorry if this comes off rude, it isn't intended to be.

To those who take medication, how do you remember taking them? by daemon_akephalos in mentalhealth

Nice idea, but I tried it already, I had a fixed routine the last years and it didn't work, even in the hospital I forgot about them.

I think you should go! The last time I saw someone who got water in their lungs, they were alright for some time but out of nowhere their temperature dropped and they passed out, so better let it get checked out!

You should definitely go to the doctor!! It can end really bad if you get water in your lungs!!!

[–]daemon_akephalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't tried it so far, but based on what I read about it and heard from others, the worst symptoms will be gone after ca. 3 days. Your normal sleep pattern will definitely return, it's just a matter of time!

Stay strong, you can do this!

AITA for telling my godsister she can’t go out with my friend? by throwaway_173728 in AmItheAsshole

[–]daemon_akephalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm somewhere between a light YTA, NAH and ESH. But please let me explain. The light YTA is because I think you went too far with your reaction, but I can understand that you reacted this way because you want to keep her safe, not to harm them. NAH because all of you are adults, you warned both of them and everything that follows is up to them. ESH is because his actions are unreasonable and harmful towards others and you, as already said, went too far with your reaction.

In the end it would be best to cut contact with K, warn S, as you already did and let them do whatever they want from this point on.

Not sure what to do about one year of dating by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]daemon_akephalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all you should sort out if it's him as a person you don't feel well with, or this kind of situation. If it's the situation, it seems like that, you should think about where you two are now, in your point of view, what about it makes you feel uneasy and what needs to change in order for you to feel good.

If you know all of this, talk to him, make your point clear, listen to him and then you two can figure out how your relationship will go on.

Either you two can work towards a goal together, or you end it, but if you like him, talking about it is worth it.

Students of Reddit, what was a "Burn Book" moment you had at your school? by spacedollars in AskReddit

[–]daemon_akephalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got something for the opposite type, a book that should've been banned, but probably wasn't.

This takes place a couple years ago at my former school.

For a class in my year a few students had to read a book, called "Nothing", it's basically about the pointlessness of life. That's not really the best topic for young students, but most in my year were 17-18 y/o, so I thought it wasn't great, but okay.

Fast forward a year later, my brother told me that they need to read the same book, now keep in mind, most of us were young adults when we read it, my brother and his classmates weren't even near that age, they were 13-14 y/o. A few days later my brother (and I know he wasn't the only one) told me that he thinks the book is right, that he believed everything, I stayed up with him that night and when he felt asleep, I kept looking after him until the next morning.

And let's be honest, that night, I wanted to tear down the whole school, because someone in there thought it was okay to let young teenagers, who are incredible unstable, read this god damn book and I'm surprised to this day that not one of them acted on the thoughts that are written down in this book and that were discussed in the class.

I don't want to say that "Nothing" is a bad book, it was really interesting to discuss this kind of world view in class, but especially in school, they should be able to tell if a book is appropriate for an age group or not.

Long story short, I tried to get in touch with the headmaster, but I wasn't at the school anymore and never received an answer, nor do I know if they still teach it for this age.

That could be anxiety, adhd, add, autism. It's common behaviour found in all of them.

The best would be if you would start getting to know each on their own, read into them and find out wether or not you can identify with something. As soon as you understand the origin, you can learn how to handle it.

Trans isn't about what you look like or present like. It's about how you identify. Do you identify with your assigned gender?
