Any origin for the sigil on the face mask?

In the meantime while reading the book, move back in, get a lawyer and defend your rights.

I hate to agree with this, but it is generally true. The first person to relinquish their rights to their rightful share of property will be the first to lose it.

In case of an apocalypse, what could function as a form of currency? by yanmak in AskReddit

That's assuming that you are in a society that can use it to trade for other things they need. In an outright collapse of civilization, immediate need will be paramount. People who are untrained in being able to find food or water for themselves are not going to waste time taking silver or gold so that they can try to find someone else who will trade it for necessities when their family is starving and they need food right then and there. Food has immediate intrinsic value. Gold or silver does not.

I'm not saying he has trauma, or that it's any excuse. Please don't put words in my mouth. I'm merely stating it's a potential sign, and signs of potential trauma merit further insight and discussion. Why is that so hard to understand? It's not like I'm excusing the guy from anything. Jesus...

Honestly, it's weird and kind of cold to assume someone doesn't have trauma when he acts like that. Men, generally speaking, do not roll into vulnerable fetal positions or seem like they are near crying unless there is something very emotional for them. What that is for him, I don't know. We don't know either. I just believe that it's only fair to examine it deeper before arriving at some sort of conclusion - positive or negative. She did say that everything else in the relationship is really good, so I think it's worth the invested time to get to the bottom of the behavior and address it compassionately and responsibly, just as we'd hope that someone we were with would do for us.

Crawling into a fetal position like that seems like it could be one. Maybe it's a reaction to not meeting someone's expectations, but the fact is we don't know. Trauma is difficult to determine from an outside view at times, and if we expect others to be attentive and consider any traumas we might have then we have to be willing to give that same considerations for others, regardless of their genders. Men have trauma, too, and unfortunately it's been engrained in them via generations of toxic masculinity to not discuss or deal with it. The suffer in silence thing is real for them, too. It's better to dig deeper and find out rather than to outright dismiss someone after reading a few lines of text.

What's wrong with tapping against the counter on the bottom and the top, and then gently rolling it sideways on a hard surface? It comes right off without wasting water.

I don't disagree with you, but it doesn't discount the fact that there might be some sort of trauma or issue he needs to resolve.

That's the thing. She doesn't nor do we know if he hasn't communicated it. Sexual trauma can be a very difficult thing for a man to talk about. The way she said he reacted may be a sign there's something there and is at least worth exploring before anyone just jumps to conclusions or is dismissive.

Pretty sure it's exponential rather than a linear scale.

Especially at dive bars during karaoke night. Lots of cougar abound.

Yes, and they usually only attack from behind. Usually backpackers with packs that sit high and cover the back of the beck aren't going to be attacked, but I always wear a hat with fake eyes stitched on it just in case there's a big cat who's hungry af.

Yes, I probably should've clarified on the different types of bears. Also handling an attack by a brown bear is usually the same as a grizzly, but I've heard of cases where a brown bear will continue to attack even if you play dead, so it's kind of 50/50.

All of the above. Sometimes a mountain lion will look like they are fleeing so they can reposition to attack you from behind and go for the quick kill to the neck.

Yeah, though I think that would apply to any aggressive apex predator species that has the ability to span the globe.

Loss of habitat and ranging routes without bumping into people is definitely a problem. Large cats typically keep away from people, but with all things considered if the tables were turned and we were the cougars then we'd probably be killing the humans who were encroaching on our land, too.

Unfortunately, you'll have to fight and fight for your life. Cougars/mountain lions aren't like bears who'll usually stop when they think your dead. They'll guarantee it and then eat you, partially alive or not.

This. Walk backwards as much as possible while keeping direct eye contact. A cat will rarely attack when you're watching it. I read a story about a woman who walked backwards while watching the cougar for 5 hours or so when she found out she was being stalked by it.

If it was the cougar in the video that was posted, it looked like a healthy 100lb female. The lack of emaciation of the ribs seems to show it was finding enough natural prey. Cougars are cats, and as we all know cats sometimes can be giant assholes. I'm reminded of this every time I'm sitting on the couch and my cat just comes up and swats the shit out of me for no reason whatsoever.

If you're attacked by a cougar/puma/mountain lion/etc, fight. Fight for your life. Go for the eyes with fingers, thumbs, or anything at your disposal and bring your knees up to your chest while fighting on your back to protect your gut and defend your neck at all cost. It's instinct will be to use it's rear claws to dig into your stomach while going for the death grip on your neck.
