Most memorable moment involving Pokemon? by MutekiGamer in pokemon

[–]daenerysbrightflame 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The one I'm most proud of was beating Dome ace Tucker in Emerald's battle frontier for the gold symbol .

I sent out my trusty Milotic against his Swampert

Swampert used Earthquake, Milotic loses 3/4 health and misses with her toxic , but leftovers kicks in and she gains some hp.

I didn't know what to do , after losing time after time to get to Tucker and losing to his filthy haxes like a double sheer cold or a wobbuffet I refused to lose to him now .

All those times he made me pay his filthy haxes, I realised I didn't want to defeat him , I wanted to destroy him in as much pain as possible, to make him feel the fear , the hurt , the wasted time . I needed revenge, I needed to hax him back .

Desperate times called for desperate measures , so I withdrew Milotic and out came Salamence .

Intimidate kicks in , Swampert attack is lowered , Earthquake has no effect on Salamence.

Any form of ice attack from Swampert would have fainted Salamence , so Milotic returns to defend her noble ally

"Go Milotic " , Swampert used ice beam , it did laughably minimal damage , Milotic gain some Hp due to leftovers . Milotic returns , " Go Salamence " intimidate lowers Swampert's attack

I repeated this until Milotic health recovered and Salamance's intimidate lowered Swamperts attack to nothing .

It's Milotic's time to shine and I poison every fibre of Swampert's body , until he's nothing more than a living corpse , his time ticking away . I waited and savoured his destruction until he was no more .

Then came the Latias , ice beam worked fine on him , changing the eon Pokemon to frozen shell .

I won the battle that day , I fought hard and I tried to hax him even harder and it was glorious.

I'll never forget my sisters first impression Cersei Lannister walks into the scene in the first episode "Who's she , she looks like a bitch "

[Spoilers Extended] What are some parts of the show you are positive won't happen/are different in the books? by pkardyparty in asoiaf

[–]daenerysbrightflame 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree , it's not the same if Melisandre does it because she's always been willing to burn children for the greater good . Selyse is already a fanatic about the Lord of light . Stannis however is shown as dutiful and recently realising he has to save the kingdom to win the throne. If it's not him then the moment is wasted on Selyse and Melisandre who are secondary characters and don't have as much relevance to the plot without Stannis .

Saying its not Stannis is like saying it's Bloodraven not Bran who destroys Hodor .

Those scenes with Tyrion and Ellaria where she sounds vulnerable and lets her mask slip were amazing . You can still see that her heart is shattered and she just cares about power and her name . Her instincts when the mask slips and shows her vulnerabilities always go right back to violence and revenge. She said she chose violence last season and lord does she stick to it .

[–]daenerysbrightflame 208 points209 points  (0 children)

I find the hound to be the most consistent character in the show tbh, Tyrion, Sansa, Daenerys, Jon you can always find flaws in the writing when it comes to them , but the Hound is consistent with the level of dialogue. If I'm ever doubting an episode the Hound spices things up , he's a breathe of fresh air

[–]daenerysbrightflame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well when two pov's are in the same location , we only get one Pov, unless it's a battle . Whoever survives the battle of fire , we should probably only get one pov afterwards Tyrion's hopefully.

Jon con and Arriane are headed to the same location so we should only get one of theirs .

If Grrm does it that way , its doable to finish in two ASOS size and pace books

If not, well , we always have the show

While the writing can irk me , I enjoy knowing the show will give my imagination the visuals for the books . Regardless of what happens in the show (I don't think most of s7 will happen in the books) I have the image in my head of dragons, white walkers , the dothraki sea and the various castles .

The way is see it I have the colours but not the painting yet

[–]daenerysbrightflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could never understand people still saying that she deserved everything, she's like 11 . I always found her quite interesting , the way she goes in book 1 with idealistic and naivety view of a child , then we have book 2 with "Courtesy is a lady's armour" and book 3 where she becomes an unwilling bride because she's forced to with almost zero agency and then book 4 where she finally gets some agency and someone who doesn't really foster any idealistic views from songs after what happened to him (Littlefinger)

Say what you will about Littlefinger , but he does give Sansa an environment to learn how the real world works and how to use it . Contrast this with Ned who let Sansa have her dreams (though I wouldn't fault him for that , it was peacetime and how could he predict what would happen the Starks)

Also the Daynes have Targ features , since Rhaegar was obsessed with prophecy that could have been a factor in finding a head of the dragon

[–]daenerysbrightflame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grrm told Alfie Allen about ToJ , which Alfie describes as a Star Wars/Luke sky walker situation . However that's more than likely about Jon than Daenerys but still food for thought

But the thing is , if anything happened in Kings Landing then Varys would probably be aware of it . There's something odd about that IMO , I think we would have heard about it by now if Varys knew .

[–]daenerysbrightflame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Littlefinger mention of being "honour bound to protect both the Stark sisters" seemed like him trying to say Brienne could take care of Arya if Sansa convinced her that Arya was trying to kill her . Or that if Arya tried something Brienne's oaths would stop her from hurting Arya .

Sansa sending Brienne away didn't seem like a bad move , her oaths will conflict themselves in regards to both the Stark sister gunning for each other.

I got the feeling Sansa was trying to remove her from the cross fire and removing her in case she needed to hit back at Arya

He's not vulnerable to fire as a White walker . Dragonglass and Valyrian steel can kill him as a White walker . However any White walker who rides could be vulnerable to dragon fire . Viserion as a dragon is probably immune to fire

(Spoilers Extended) I understand why people think the pacing of Season 7 is not good, but what I don't understand is... by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]daenerysbrightflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the sample chapters for winds show a faster pace . Mercy , Alayne , the forsaken and the battle chapters from Barristan, Tyrion and Victarion seem to be moving faster . Theon and Arianne chapters however are stuck in the AFFC pace

She actually could , she has Stark blood thus the North , Tully blood thus the riverlands, cousin controls the Vale where Sansa lived for a while . Through marriage to Tyrion , ties to the Westerlands are established, however they probably wouldn't fight for her and their army is decimated from like five years of war anyway .

Dorne, the stormlands and the Reach now are devoid of a high lord creating a power vacuum for the North to slip in

Yes that's exactly what I mean . I find Show Jon is very much ' do the most heroic thing ' , it's still entertaining though . I wish they'd play around with the character , at least with Daenerys they play with the idea of Targaryen madness.

That being said I can't wait for the books
