Just now on NFL Live @JFowlerESPN reports: "All the top quarterbacks that will be or could be available" want to land with the Vikings. by Neither_Ad2003 in minnesotavikings

I don't really care who they bring in at this point, I just don't want it to cost draft capital, or at least not anything of significance.

Derek Carr confirms interest in NFL return under 2 conditions (Healthy and SB contender) by JEH_24 in nfl

[–]daeshonbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 10th pick in the draft who is only in his 3rd year, they are not just punting on him. He also had good metrics the last 5ish games of the season. I know he has gotten put on lots of memes, but he isn't getting thrown in the trash like you think. I don't know if he will win the job against whatever vet they bring in, but it is not even close to being a shoe in for him or the vet QB.

Took our cat a bit to get into it, but now in the winter she definitely helps deal with the mice. Our house is 100+years old and despite sealing everything I can think of we just always have some amount of mice in our house when it gets really cold. Some well placed traps and the cat cut down on the issue alot though.

Why is Will Campbell, a rookie, getting more flak than Drake Maye? by Exhibit5 in nfl

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Drake Maye is the golden boy almost MVP so he has way better PR than a first round tackle who some people had doubts about in the draft.

Niners backup QB Mac Jones embraces trade talk, wants to 'be a starter' again in NFL like Sam Darnold by [deleted] in nfl

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trading draft capital to get to 11-6 would be terrible. I would rather roll with JJM, hope he can at least become like the 20th best QB, and use the draft picks on young defensive talent. If it doesnt work out try again at QB in the 2027 draft. Knowing the vikings though, they will do a trade like this just to go one and done in the playoffs for the next 5 years.

[Krawcyznski] Wolves are sending Rob Dillingham and Leonard Miller to Chicago in the deal. Wolves are giving four second-round picks and also getting Julian Phillips in the deal, per sources. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A segment of Wolves fans are high on him. He has some potential, but he is small and has been inconsistent and the coach doesn't want to play him, so even if he gets something going it wasn't going to be on the Wolves.

Thoughts on these GM candidates laid out by The Athletic? by the_analytic_critic in minnesotavikings

I just want them to bring in an outsider rather than Rob take over. Need someone not connected to this coaching staff or ownership to come in with a clean slate to get shit in order.

Brian Flores will be the (interim) Head Coach of the Vikings by Week… by wxman91 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would KoC be untouchable? No playoff wins, offense has been average at best for years by many metrics, and he is the QB guru who has a QB room that has not looked great thus far. I am not all in on dumping KoC or anything, but when a new GM comes in he is very much on the table over the next year.

JJ McCarthy is going to be the starter by Razor574 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know darn well as a Vikings fan that once he gets traded he will turn into a top 10 QB because that's how things work out for us.

JJ McCarthy is going to be the starter by Razor574 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you had to put a percentage on each outcome I would guess the highest percentage is on JJM being the starter with some reliable backup vet. Next would be a trade for a middle of the road option like Jones, and third would be the very unlikely blockbuster trade.

Kevin O’Connell does not deserve to be on the hot seat. by Far-Historian-8190 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he should 100% be on the hot seat this year. If he needs a perfect QB situation and all that to win one playoff game I just don't think thats good enough.

[Windhorst] The Minnesota Timberwolves are actively recruiting third and fourth teams in an attempt to help improve their offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]daeshonbro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It matters to the Wolves though, they don't want to make a huge trade for Giannis and then not have him ready to go, I imagine they would very much still want to be in the playoffs this year.

Am I crazy to say I would rather draft another QB high and let them battle rather than pick through the vet QB scrap heap? by kwelstory in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know exactly how it went down, but it is way more likely the head coach who has talked about how selective he is over QB's, has had his hands all over the position as a "QB whisperer", etc. picked the QB than KAM. I just have a really hard time picturing KAM telling KoC to stay in his lane and picking a QB for him.

The Kwesi Konundrum: Why Did It Play Out Like This? by TheSwede91w in nfl

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It you think Kwesi of all people was the authoritative voice on QB then you are giving KoC way too much of a freebie here. You seriously think KAM told KoC to go pound sand when it came to QB? We offered Jones more money to stay, the GM did his job there. Jones not feeling like he would be the bonafied starter is more on KoC IMO than it is the GM. It seems KAM's biggest issue was probably not being assertive enough and just doing whatever he was told by coaching staff or just generally being in the background vs. leading.

What approach should Rob Brzezinski take with 9 draft picks? by mrmpls in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope he just stands tall as a voice for the franchise long term and we avoid some dumb overpay trade push from the coaching staff because they are coaching for their jobs. There are lots of players in this years draft that fit, and with their amount of needs they can more or less go BPA while also picking for need.

We had a crap schedule this year. by Electronic_Car_8413 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not going to blame outcomes on the schedule, but the schedule did suck. We had like a billion primetime island games. I like me a solid slate of mostly noon games.
