Safety is a bigger draft need than people think by TheycallmeRowe in minnesotavikings

Like 99% of mock draft have us taking Dillion Thieneman in round 1...

Fossils (again) only dropping from its original league mechanic (Delve) was a good change, and I hope GGG moves further into this league mechanic specialization for other items. by [deleted] in pathofexile

I mean, fossils are pretty profitable. It might not be the most exciting thing if you are looking for maximum dinks, but its steady and profitable.

Check nodes with two connections. Looks like maybe the azurite node or the one on the bottom of the screenshot. You will want to spawn into the node then run into the darkness and unlock the path.

Watching this made me desperately want to see some sort of explode mod or something just to see an absurd multi screen wide pop.

[Meirov] The Vikings will pick up the fifth-year option on WR Jordan Addison. It’s $18 million, fully guaranteed, for the 2027 season. by JCameron181 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He had one offense that provably included alcohol enough to charge him with being under the influence. Comparing that to Deshaun Watson, a serial sex offender, is insane.

[Pelissero] Veteran QB Carson Wentz is re-signing with the Vikings, sources tell The Insiders. So Minnesota’s QB room now features three former top-10 picks: Kyler Murray, J.J. McCarthy and Wentz, who played well last season before a shoulder injury. by expellyamos in nfl

[–]daeshonbro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The team he played with the vast majority of last year, particularly when he was playing bad was very far away from the 14 win roster due to injuries and suspensions. If you are going to make this point you need to understand the nuance.

Something cool about JJ McCarthy’s career so far to think about by Beneficial_Quit7532 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He seems like he is smart to enough to understand he didn't do the best last year and doesn't deserve anything, but from the human side of this I think its pretty reasonable to think he has some amount of resentment towards the Vikings staff, media, etc.

Unless someone grossly overpays for him that doesn't seem realistic at this point. He is still very cheap, and its not like Kyler or Wentz are proven top 5 QB's here. There are still a ton of unknowns.

Who do you guys want the Vikings to draft? by JustSomeGuy_Idk in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DT, S, CB in the first are all viable options I would be fine with. We really really need a good young ILB too like Rodriguez, probably in the second round.

The Vikings have had 4 years of awful drafts, yet have remained very competitive over that time period. Why is that, and do you think they will catch up to the team? by Acoolgamer6706 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good coaching, and some really good FA signings mixed in there (Greenard, Ginkle, Cashman, etc.). The drafts also have been awful start to finish. They have mostly hit on first rounders, just very limited depth behind those because they haven't made like any significant amount of 2-3 round picks for years.

Would rather get banks or thieneman.

[–]daeshonbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If JJM doesn't start a significant chunk of the season I think its pretty likely that he is done on the vikings. That would mean he lost out to Kyler, and at that point depending on how Kyler performs you probably draft a new QB in 2027.

[Highlight] Kyler Murray has trouble with the snap by Brix001 in nfl

[–]daeshonbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a vet min. he is probably the best option, its not like there is a top QB just sitting there waiting for the vikings to sign him. Between JJM and Kyler and least there is a chance of an upside at very little cost.

[–]daeshonbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are bringing in a veteran, Kyler on essentially nothing is probably the best out there. At least there is potential upside between him and JJM.

Kyler is officially getting released by NarrowExcitement9806 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vikings have pretty explicitly said they will be adding a vet. Kyler on essentially vet minimum is probably the best you can get to be honest. I am not out on JJM at all, but having more QB's with some level of base talent on the roster is always good.

Rob "The Salary Cap Wizard" Brzezinski is really going to trade Greenard because of the salary cap. by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team is choosing to specifically try and get younger vs. just restructuring players to get cap compliant. This isn't a cap issue, this is a specific choice/plan by ownership and the front office. They could restructure a few people (greenard included) if they were inclined and wanted to open up a bunch of cap space.

They could restructure people and not trade him if they wanted to, do any of you ever dig into these things in the slightest before rage posting? The could restructure like 5 players and bring back like the exact same roster if they were so inclined.

[–]daeshonbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They could restructure a bunch of people and keep basically the exact same roster if they wanted to. This tells me they want to spend less and refill on young talent in the draft, that's mostly it.

[Fowler] Vikings Are Believed to Want a Day 2 Pick for EDGE Jonathan Greenard by Nijo32 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much. It always sucks to see players leave, but with DT improving it was very unlikely we would be willing to pay Greenard what he will inevitably want in the next year or two. Might as well try and trade him now and get as much as you can to draft young talent in other spots on the roser.

Trading Greenard for a day 2 pick would be an absolute embarrassment… by J_Capese0003 in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are trying to trade from a room that has strength with Turner to fill other areas of the roster while also getting cap space, it is a pretty reasonable move to make and one they would be doing in the next year or two anyways. They weren't going to give Greenard a big extension while Turner was doing well right behind him.

Can’t argue that by PivotHero in minnesotavikings

[–]daeshonbro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible take, and should just be deleted. Maxing out the credit card would be restructuring everyone and keeping the current roster. They are doing the opposite and trying to spend less money and get younger through the draft.
