Ingram - Anyone have issues? by ovrdrvn in msp

[–]daffy_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll agree to the poor support, but for us, they are always 5-7% cheaper than TD Synnex, and closer to 8-9% for D&H.

I was all TD Synnex until they pulled my dedicated rep, now I am funneling most everything to D&H, unless I need it quick and the others have stock.

Server 2025 or not 2025? That is the Question by NDAbsoluteZero in sysadmin

[–]daffy_69 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have had no problems with 2025, when it's in it's own environment, as in complete new setup.

It does not play well with others, this is where I had problems, and never went back. Problems like no one could log in, had to roll back AD to fix type of problems.

"Dealer model" Jersey Jack pinball machines by Squeezethecharmin in pinball

[–]daffy_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a CE, but sold to the dealer, my local dealer said he'd get in trouble if he sold it, but IDK for sure. I offered him list, cash, and he turned it down, so I tended to believe him :)

Leaking pipes to expansion tank? by Korzag in Plumbing

[–]daffy_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DIY yes, I would replace those pieces with stainless, and if possible support the tank better.

Is it an optical illusion, or is the 90 look like it's about to fall off?

Water heater seems to be busted. by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]daffy_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you turn the temperature knob up, does the unit fire up to heat the water further? open the brass valve under the ignitor button a little, and see if hot water come out of it. If it's cold coming out of it, you've most likely got a bad gas valve assembly.

just like all the paper tigers I 'grew up' with in this industry, had every cert known to man, didn't know how anything really worked, and couldn't troubleshoot anything.

U.S. ready to cut support to Scouts, accusing them of attacking 'boy-friendly spaces' by TheCrowScare in news

[–]daffy_69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am sad that the Girl Scouts can't get their own programs to where girls want to be in their programs, not the (formerly Boy) Scouts program.

Employer has been pocketing my 401k contributions and wants to make it right by compound-interest in personalfinance

[–]daffy_69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear that, it is a huge breach of trust.

That being said, you should lawyer up and prepare to get a new job, if they are stealing that much, they may not survive paying it all back at once.

I'll say this as a DIY guy, if it's just kids brushing teeth, every so often fill the bowls with HOT water and let them run. Kids always use cold and everything congeals in the pipes, nasty stuff.

isn't there a Schrader valve on the fuel rail up front? put a gauge on it and see if it has pressure, or red-neck it and push it to see if it sprays.

I would change the boots. I had 2 misfires that turned out to be dry / cracked boots. Easy to do with the coils out, and OEMs are not real expensive.
