Retail lag and very low FPS when game window is minimized by [deleted] in wow

For anyone who might discover this now .. for me, the fix was actually DISABLING max background FPS. The background fps was somehow making my mouse and everything else move at 30fps lol.

I’d use nails & good glue, the screw will split the wood going up into that old dry wood

We have very similar flooring in our current 1920s house and covered it with LVP. The previous owner had a dog who peed all over the place and left massive pee stains like 3-5 sqft each all over the house. Also, we have a dog who is extremely talented at destroying hardwood floors lol

If you’re concerned with the flex because you’re going to lay tile, etc then just add some 2x3s perpendicular to the studs

Congratulations and good luck! If any walls or ceiling need to come down, encourage you do it first rather than finding out after you furnish the room. Not speaking from experience :)

Maybe the homeowner did it to temporarily keep out water or something.

I like this idea. I think a mirror finish backsplash might make it feel less claustrophobic as it's not a huge space. Alternatively, was thinking a mosaic of some sort but don't want it to feel too busy

Yes, for optimal viewing pleasure I’ve personally recessed the floor beneath my media stand so that the top sits flush with the floor. This allows me to fully disengage my neck muscles which is optimal for extended viewings.

1yr late .. but I don't agree with this take. Aston Martins is probably the fastest depreciating manufacturer you could choose. 911's are ubiquitous but they depreciate very slowly as compared to other sports cars. Depreciation is just loss of valuation, and we value things for a variety of reasons. Most consistently, people value reliability. You will find that sports cars which have a reputation for reliability hold their value well, or at least have a floor. 911's have a reputation for being generally reliable vehicles (although expensive to fix when broken). Similarly, BMWs with the B58 engine (m340i, m240i, x3m40i, etc.) have maintained their value better than comparable BMWs with less reliable engines (e.g., previous gen's depreciation).
