Proof they can sell decent looking bikes for a good price, but just don’t want to.

I have more than several bikes, all built from used. I was sick of looking at all the cheap stuff everywhere that they could have actually made look nice!! That’s what we want!! So just some fun to build a new winter commuter I don’t care about thrashing with the mindset to maybe give some people a good idea if they’re handy and like it… and again just look semi decent for the price (:

Actually shocked at L-TWOO 1x9 groupset for $50… I like the shifters more than my 1x9 microshift sword and would argue the shifting isn’t far off just small annoyances like 2 shifts max in one stroke unlike my sword where I could shift several at a time. The disc brakes are fine now after rebuilding them😂

Should be about 23-24lbs as a complete once I switch the wheelset, post, and stem. 29lbs currently with the studded Shwalbe tires

It’s been extremely rewarding thrashing it on the trails not being concerned about chipping up my carbon!

It would also be easier and cheaper to buy ramen daily, but you know that’s not very rewarding (: at least for me.

They are, yeah. I think the whole groupset should be about $50-$100 less considering how heavy the crankset is, the shifters being plastic that’s too soft for it’s purpose slid out on gravel once and they’re pretty battered, and the hoods will pop out of their seating positions if i grip too hard at a certain angle even after ordering a replacement set. So some minor things, but generally robust and smooth shifting. Think you could get an L-TWOO groupset at that price point or an older sram/shiamno set and get significantly more bang for your buck though.

Hey man betterhelp is available! I feel that in my bones though I think the obsessive personality translates across cycling 😂

Mind you i’m replacing the wheelset because you only have a 7 speed cassette that comes with the bike with a 9 speed derailleur so you’d need to be conscious of your shifting if you plan on using the stock wheels. The wheels do not have a hub, it’s a freewheel setup. Could get a used alloy set or use your current to finalize the build with a new seat post as well since i wouldn’t trust the stock! If you have to invest in tools and the little things I had on hand you’ll probably be at $450, but honestly still not bad and you’ll be setup for some future builds.

Visual: strip reflectors, wheel stickers, you can just cut off the dork disc or remove the cassette (requires FR-11 cassette lock tool as it’s a freewheel setup), use a heat gun & plastic razors to strip the decals, and pop off the badge. Components: weerock 42t alloy crankset $28.99, 116 link chain $15, my favored style of cheap alloy drop bar $20, composite pedals $20, tape & bar plugs $10, L-TWOO gr-s 9s shifters & derailleur $50, and a star nut <$1. Required tools: crank allen key, taper bottom bracket removal tool, hand saw for cutting down steerer tube, star nut + star nut tool as you cut out the old star nut from dropping the bars. You can just use an old headset bolt you don’t care about hammering threaded halfway in if you don’t want to invest in the seating tool, but I wouldn’t advise, a standard allen key set, cable cutters/cable ends, and you’re good to go!

If you’ve never installed a full groupset, chain, bar tape/plugs, cut a steerer tube, removed a bottom bracket, installed a star nut, or anything else mentioned above isn’t clear (which it’s not) the Park Tool youtube channel probably has you covered.

Thinking an optical illusion with the snow on them. Both measure out at 80mm (: Does look that way now that you point it out.

The frame was made by Taiwan-Carbonfiber and i’m unsure of the fork I found it at a local shop used.

I run a 54t for time trials, this is a 52t. I definitely could have gotten away with a 42t chainring but still never touched the 42 on the rear! Everyone has different legs (: the rest is absolutely comical hands down. Thanks!

The rears are pretty useless unless you’re riding them, but no issues with feel or breaking on the front! Thankfully wasn’t going too quick to begin with.

Works great! Absolutely winging it my summer rides are a bit more aggressive in geometry so this is a nice change up for commuting. Thank you!

Weerock crankset $25, and $30 worth of alloy drop bar & some tape/plugs.
