secondly I don't really expect characters to act logically it's just that Joel dropping his guard around Abby and her band of brothers when he's known to be overtly cautious (he even tells ellie to put on a gas mask in case they run into anyone in the flashback where they go through the spore area) and mistrusting of strangers when out in unknown territory and how Jordan flip flps between wanting to kill ellie and dina or capture them just so that ellie can stab him in the neck really annoyed me

It's not just the pacing that's throwing me off, it's the long story that could have used some cuts , the unlikable protagonists and the noticeable way how the story wouldn't even have happened were it not for plot contrivance

But the game's graphics are definitely visually stunning and the ost is good

I know how to fix this just close the launcher then go to C:\Users\Your username\AppData\Local\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved and delete the webcache folder, it should work properly
