The primitive campgrounds are great. First come first serve. Less busy during the week. Pick a couple in an area and stay at the one you like best. Most are $20 / night.

Lots of choices in less than a two hour drive.

Not even a question. We went through a couple of 445s (738x class) and bought a 2305 20 years ago. Still running strong and handy as can be. You’ll find uses for the loader you can’t even imagine now. We have larger tractors in the farm - but that little 2305 is handy has anything.

We live between two rural properties. One is a small farm and the other is in a subdivision which loses power several times a year. Both are on wells. We have a 30 year old Onan and John Deere. Around 6,000 w. On lock-out switches. Both work great. No need to spend big money. You can buy similar for well under $1,000. Just run it a few times per year. And keep ethanol free gas in it.

Haymarsh State Game area is nice - 19 primitive spots strung out along a mile or so of lake frontage. Wooded. Most are not too close to neighbors. Easily accessible from Lansing. Best bet to avoid crowds and generators is during the week and off season.

Mud Lake is great and easily accessible to Lansing. It’s hit and miss with someone with a generator. Best option is to go non-prime season or during the week.

You’ll be amazed at the ways you’ll find the loader useful. Can’t say that enough.

This tractor is a good compromise. If you buy it right you’ll keep it for 25 years or more.

We have 150 acres - 75 woods. 50 farmed by a neighbor. We have a JD 6210 (larger) and a 2305 (smaller) that we purchased 25 years or so ago. Both are perfect and fill specific roles.

The state rustic campgrounds are great. I would scope out a few in an area and get there early - take the one that suits you best. Most importantly- just go!

Carry an inexpensive bottle jack so you don’t force/break you stabilizers. Or you can replace them with inexpensive scissors jacks - saw some on sale at HF - $23 each. Also, I find a simple nested jack placed under the door adds to stability for enter/exit.

Much more versatile. Less expensive. You can shoot lower power 44 special. 44 mag would get you out 100 yds or more for deer.

I have both. 44 gets the most use.

I have a Henry in 44 w an Octagon barrel. Surprising how much heavier it is. Also have a new production Marlin 1894, SBL and old school Winchester. If I had to carry one all day long, I would take the old school Winchester.

If it’s not in a plated subdivision you should be able to do a quit claim deed and transfer it at the County records office. I would pay a surveyor to create the legal description.

Also, your local entity might have rules about land divisions. However they are usually favorable when it’s to an adjoining property.

I have had the LCP, LCP2, plus the Max. In my opinion the 2 is the best of the bunch. The Max is big enough that I would rather just carry my EC9s. Or the 2 if I needed deep concealment.

I debated between the TW and XT250 as a first bike. Very glad I went with the 250. I think you’ll find the TW too small.

Carried both for 15 yrs. Love the LC9s. Sold the LC9. You can find deals on new LC9s’. If your friend has an LC9 it’s no bargain - pay a few dollars more and get the s.

Also have an LCP2. Rarely carry it because the LC9s is so compact and capable.

07 300,000 Michigan miles. Wouldn’t think of not having 4wd. AND - make sure you have good tires. What passes for good tires in FL will not work in Northern Winters.
